CBA deadline?

We have until 11:59 on March 3rd for the CBA to be signed or the lockout will begin. I think we need to have an official countdown thread with up to date news on the CBA.

I have noticed that teams have been cutting a lot of players today, right before the CBA expiration date. Could this be a sign that the CBA isn't going to be reached?

I hate to take away the attention from the kids at the Combine but I think this is pretty important and I would love to see one thread about the CBA expiring instead of seeing people posting a new thread everytime a new story breaks out on the CBA this week.

In all seriousness though, am I the only one that finds it somewhat funny that Jerry Richardson is seen as the big bad SOB out-of-touch dickhead cheap owner because he cut a bunch of has-beens and never-weres, and now you are going to see every other team follow suit at the eleventh hour?

JR did it a year earlier than everybody else and garnered the first pick in the draft, possibly for two years in a row. My respect for him grows every time I read that some other team made a bunch of cuts.

I applaud you Jerry Richardson, you are a pioneer and a model businessman. And although you may or may not be a driving force behind no football for a while, you are a bad motherfuger.

and the way its looking... We may not have Football this year. If the union busts up and a bunch of players sue its going to take at least a year to make it to court. D.Smith will also go down as one of the worst Union leaders ever.

Even if the deadline passes, they will continue to work on a new deal all summer. Mid July is when I will start to lose hope. I reckon, uh huh.

Lol thanks. I will agree with you about how smart JR was this season. Sure it sucked loosing but if there ends up being a lockout then he will end up being a genious. The problem is though, what if there is no lockout? then JR will pretty much made all the decisions for nothing besides getting rid of John Fox. Which is a good enough reason for me.

I think JR ruined our team this season but in the long run our team will benifit from the cuts from this season. The cuts could of been avoidable though. I feel that this season could of been better but JR had to clean up the mess he made with horrible front office moves for example JR extending Jake Delhommes contract, and loosing Peppers for pretty much nothing.

Just when it seemed that JR cleaned up his mess from the seasons before he traded away our future 2nd round pick for a 3rd round pick.

I think JR is on the right track and hopefully can turn this franchise around. I can forgive him for giving us this crappy season but it is hard to forgive him for the AE trade.

So what happens when AE turns into a viable player? The fact that you can applaud him for getting rid of Fox but then disapprove of AE because he is a "bust" is an oxymoron. I say let Ron make his decisions and see what comes of Manti, if he busts he busts, but if he doesn't, then it looks like a good deal. We have to degenerate from Fox completely before we make decisions about rookie players that played under his coaching.

Well like I said you'll see a bunch of other teams do what JR did between now and Thursday. Clean up their books and cut the fat, no Kris Jenkins puns intended. I bet you by Wednesday we see a lot more "OMG I can't believe that guy got cut" type guys get released. He just did it sooner because he had more foresight that a cba would not get done. Dude is 100% gangster.

If he becomes better than Foster or Shelton or Nelson or Jarett or Teh Jimmy, then it'll be worth it. I say trade our 2nd round pick in advanced EVERY year, minus Kalil and Martin, they are terrible picks full of frustrations!
