Carson Palmer = Yes Please

Eagles fans could probably overlook that due to the high yards TDS and rating and low interceptions he compiled for 11 years.

I get the feeling if were were pursuing Joe Montana in his prime people would complain about his throwing motion

Yeah, I wouldn't take most Eagles fans word for anything - they never appreciated McNabb no matter what he did.

I agree with the statement of him being like Warner in Arizona. Ask your self this, did anyone really think Warner would bounce back the way he did after the last 2 years he had in St. Louis or the year in New York? He then turned it around and helped Arizona out.

...and consider this: the Skins will probably end up releasing McNabb so he could be had without giving up anything.

That is why I think McNabb would be a more realistic possibility. The only question is does he want to come to a team that is rebuilding and just went 2-14?

But no matter who we draft, if he is released we need to take a long look at him and see if he fits and what his interest level would be.

It was a valid criticism if you wathced him play a lot.

I wouldn't be upset with either guy really, outside of whatever it might take to trade them. I just think Palmer would be a better fit given the systems each are from and that Palmer didnt suck ass recently.

Yup, that same question applies to Palmer...

Tired of reading most of you say Palmer is not needed here.

News Flash: He would instantly be the best QB the Panthers have ever had.

6'5, 236lbs , he fits the physical mold that Rivera has stated he wants.

31 years old, 9 years experience. He has 4-5 good years left in him. He would not be a "stop gap"

First overall pick in 2003. Guess what, he wasn't a bust unlike the majority of QB's in this years draft inevitably will be.

Career QB rating of 86.9. Palmer was 6th in the league in passing in 2010 EVEN THOUGH the Bengals averaged a league low 3.6 yards per carry on the ground. Think teams were game planning against the run? Think again.

In short, shut your pie holes, we would be fortunate to get Palmer.

Agree

I think palmer is in win now mode. He's been apart of a rebuilding project his whole career. Him coming here would be like steve smith asking "in"to the panthers after playing with the raiders.

I will never understand this type of comment.. we don't have that many holes.. we just got rid of our incompetent coaching staff (offensively) and our only major hole on offense is QB..

so to add a QB who is at least average compared to what we have now doesn't mean we are going to be as bad as we were last year..

tighten up our DTs and a few other spots and we are a legitimate team that has a good chance at making the playoffs..

They showed his numbers since 2008 on ESPN, and they are not good. He's way down in every category since he hurt his knee. I guess anything is better than the status quo though. It would be almost impossible for Palmer to be as bad as what we have seen lately, that's for sure.

Agreed. Our holes last year were the passing game, injuries on the offensive line and poor play at the tackle. Get a QB, get Otah healthy, and get a couple of new DT's, and we could be good this coming season.

    • I am optimistic that we might be on the verge of fielding a sustainable offense finally. The Bryce stats listed above are definitely encouraging. I don’t want to overly inflate this and disregard the previous 1 and a half seasons of production from Bryce and “cherry pick” stats but do hope the benching turns into an inflection point in his trajectory.      Lots of excitement heading into this season.
    • Summary The 2024 Carolina defense posted a 44.9 grade last year, which was the worst in the NFL since 2020. They also had the worst receiving grade in the NFL despite a QB that emerged in the second half of last year. TMac is most likely WR1 in this class and is now WR1 in Carolina He's going to be incredibly helpful on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone. Highlights show just that: First highlight is Arizona vs. Utah. 4 verts vs. cover-0, TMac lined up alone on a go ball vs. press = we're launching it Second highlight shows his potential as the X. Runs a backside in-cut and the Tampa-2 MLB sells out on the corner route, leaving his back to TMac. Tough over the middle, explosive after the play. Sees TMac doing a lot of what Mike Evans was asked to do in Tampa. Third highlight shows how effective TMac is in the redzone and it's his one-handed catch vs. Travis Hunter. Brings "indefensible plays." Has size advantage that can beat guys, can jump, and has ridiculous hands. Will help Bryce in year 3 as it will allow him to continue playing "fearless" like he did after coming back from benching. Highlights show where TMac fits and re-emphasizes how he's going to make things easier on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone: Fourth highlight shows Bryce vs. ATL when he hit AT vs. AJ Terrell down the sideline. Bryce has to hold the single deep safety during his drop to give Thielen a chance (who is only 4yds off of the LOS when Bryce is throwing it). Registers the big-time throw attacking vertically. Fifth highlight is vs. KC on a blitz where Bolton is coming downhill while Karlaftis is dropping back over the middle. Has an in-route that has outside leverage with Chris Jones applying immediate pressure. Layered it over Karlaftis' head for the completion. Sixth highlight is the fade route TD to David Moore vs. Zona. in the redzone. David Moore was the X on this play. Thought this was interesting, especially considering recent conversations about Bryce's intermediate game needing to be better:
