Game 52: Wizards vs. Bobcats

For the first time in franchise history the Bobcats are receiving a barrage of "positive" press and media attention. I havent heard anyone mention Bob Johnson's name in months and it feels like this organization is progressing forward. We sit a few games outside of that final playoff spot and despite our injury troubles, still have a chance to get in the dance. Tonight we face a Wizards team that is playing for the #1 draft pick and that we've already beaten twice this year. I wanna see "Vlad The Impaler" have another good game for us off the bench in an easy win at home. GO BOBCATS!!!

its a great feeling to know that we're still in the playoff hunt considering we were just on a 4 game losing streak and gerald and raja are hurt. if we win tonite, get our boys back after the all-star break, theres no reason we shouldn't at least make a push for the playoffs. like mora once said. "playoffs? you talkin bout playoffs, kidding me?!"

We've got a solid team and so far we've kept our nucleus in tact. As good as Vlade has been lately I'm wondering if we REALLY need to be in the free agent market at this point. Diop has been a good pickup so has Diaw. We got a hellified guard combo, we got plenty of bigs now.

Why do anything? Let's see what we got before we go shipping guys off. We still got a roster spot left. Also, sign Raymond Felton. Him and Augustine are our basketball version of "Double Trouble (formerly Smash and Dash).

Overall I like what Larry Brown has done with the team and he hasn't gotten rid of our core players. I think Radmanovic-sp? is gong to make a name for himself here, great game tonight! :biggrin5:

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
