SB or bust?

Bulger, Brady, Brees, Garrard, Romo have all brought their teams to the playoffs... Shaub and Cassel were late round picks that are starting in the NFL right now.

That is out of about 110 players that have been drafted in late rounds the last ten years.

So...7 out of 110. Like I said it RARELY happens.

Actually if I am using last 10 years I have to take Brady and Bulger off that list.

So 5 out of 110 the last 10 years.

RARELY HAPPENS.

cassel is overrated crap...the system and the running game brought them to the playoffs.

bulger is crap either, didnt do anything in st. louis. garrard is an up-and-down qb.

roethli, manning-brothers, rivers, ryan, vick, cutler, rodgers, mcnabb and palmer are or were clear-cut franchise qbs...freeman, stafford, bradford and flacco are on their way there.

and like teeray has already said, the possibility depends not only on the round-number but also on the amount of all the picks in this/these round(s) we are talking about...

Know that's sarcasm but I doubt Hurney is using a smokescreen like others have said. He's never used one before and I doubt he'll start using one now.

You don't remember everyone in the media thinking we wanted Matt Ryan?

(and throwing on-air fits when we didn't trade up as they had predicted)

Nah, PP will be the pick when it all comes down to it. Hurney will go BPA and screw the CB never been drafted with the #1 pick.

I don't honestly think the lack of precedent makes any difference either.

Yeah but was any of that from the organisation? Did Hurney or Fox ever say that there were seriously considering it? The media can create its own rumors and misunderstandings.

I'm just tired of everyone saying that no player is worth the #1 pick, we should trade down. If no player if worth the #1 pick, who the heck gonna trade us something worthy?

Every thread is the same. It gets annoying trying to find real news about the draft through all these genius conspiracies of what's a smokescreen and who we can trade with and what the secret meaning behind a statement is.

We will draft who the FO thinks is the BPA.

The writing is not only on the wall, but has been for at least 2 weeks and is now being spray-painted over in bright-ass neon yellow. Even the anti-Newton folks have to realize what direction things are headed in, even if they disagree with it.

I wouldn't put a smokescreen past Hurney and co. but at the same time Marty Hurney is no fool (Armanti trade aside). He knows the odds of them trading this pick are slim to none. I think a lot of these "leaks" are as much, if not more, aimed at preparing the fan base for the idea of drafting Newton so that it won't come as a huge shock when they do.

That was reported not too long ago, actually. That they were hoping to "sell" the fan base on the idea that Newton is worthy of the top pick.
