Best (or Worst) Pun Potential

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

What name would provide the most entertainment for our pun-loving, nickname obsessed fanbase and/or rival fans?

- Nick Fairley ("that was a fairly good play", plus an endless supply of wrestling references)

- Marcel Dareus (Dareus the Conqueror)

- Patrick Peterson (constant "PP" jokes, enough to make a first grader shake his head)

- Cam Newton ("Fig Newton" or "Newton's Law" jokes)

- Blaine Gabbert (his first name is Blaine; insert joke here)

Which of these makes you cringe the most? :sosp:

You forgot Ryan "The Hammer" Mallett

Based on his recent 40 time...

"And Gerald McCoy really dropped The Hammer on that play!"

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
