Lets say we trade with Cinci....

Lets play a hypothetical.

Lets say we trade with Cinci in exchange for Carson Palmer, their first, and their second. They in turn select Cam Newton first overall. Denver takes Dareus. Buffalo takes Peterson.

Who do you take? AJ Green?

Peterson would be there at 4. Buffalo takes Gabbert.

If not you take Fairley or Bowers. Do not take a WR with the #4 pick. There are too many lower draft picks and FA available and WR is not our biggest problem. We have a 2nd round WR (Amanti) from last years draft. The guy has to be used or we are simply idiots.

Lets play the probability. Palmer retires after the draft is over since cincy refuses to trade him. We get no decent Qb in free agency worth a crap and we passed on a QB in the draft.

We draft Peterson or Fairley at 1.

Welcome 4-12. Good enough that we don't pick up Luck next year. That goes to Cincy who sucked without Palmer and went 2-14.

We are set back for 3 or 4 years without a QB as Clausen flounders and Moore struggles as well.

    • Some people will shift the goal posts but he does still have to consistently help the team win, eventually. Not only help but be the reason. That's what franchise QB's do.
    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
