Bad news today

Following up on the pregnancy saga that most of you cyber witnessed a couple of years ago I just thought I would update you all on the outcome.

First my son Tyler, wife Ang and myself are all fine. We're in good shape, but are a little upset.

Since Ang had all the issues with the pregnancy we were left wondering if we would be able to have any more kids. Both of us always wanted 2 or 3 and we found out on Wednesday that the chances of a successful pregnancy were very low. The OB assured us they could probably get us through it, but the misery involved for us- particularly my wife would be pretty high. So we're not going to pursue it due to the risk. I'll count my blessings and move forward.

She'll likely have a robotic, full hysterectomy this summer. We'll consider adopting when the time comes, but this is just not how I wanted this to go.

I do have a question and perhaps it's my brain just trying to evaluate every option- but with regard to faith in God do I trust that he has given us a wonderful doctor who we trust completely and take heed his warning, or do we rely primarily on God to get us through it regardless of what lies ahead of us?

I don't want to seem as though I don't have faith in God to get us through anything and everything according to his will, but part of me says that part of his plan is the doctor's warning.

Thoughts?

Life throws us all difficult situations. Although raising your own offspring is rewarding, there is something noble about those who adopt and are good parents. If the risk of the pregnancy isn't worth the hell it would put on your wife, I would call it good with one kid or adopt. It sounds as if you have already decided what to do and just need a third party to vent to.

I'm hardly someone to respond concerning what you should do... however, I follow my heart and it's taken time to trust my intuition.

and regardless of the outcome, it's ridiculous to second guess myself.

if trusting your doctor feels best, go with that. if not, try again.

and the answers don't have to come tomorrow.

My cousin and his wife were in the same boat your in now. They had their first born and healthy girl 6 years ago. I don't know what their whole process was after that...but they now have a healthy baby boy almost 1 year old. I think my cousin and his wife are both in their late 30's.

But like i said, I don't know or ask the whole story behind it all.

Hope this gives you some hope and a little release from what the doc said. Given my cousin's story, don't rush to conclusions if you dont have to.

Is there a way to get a second opinion from another doc?

We have had 2 miscarriages, but also 2 live births. The doc said it will be hit or miss with us, because my ol lady has a tilted cervix. Its a weird situation like being left handed. At least thats how he explained it to us at the time of the miscarriage.

Put your faith in God JOAT...he does things for a reason.

Both My parents are gone now and I've found when I have a difficult decision to make I ask the lord for guidance...show me, lead me to the right choice and brother I can tell you he has not mislead me yet! I wish you and your family well in whatever you decide to do.

I'd go with a 2nd opinion too, can't be too safe.

if that opinion is the same, consider this, you have a healthy son and that's way more than lots of couples get.

I'd honestly be all over looking to adopt if it were me in your shoes, but at 43, it's not something I would consider anymore.

A guy I work with went there to haiti. Went with a church mission to build beds for an orphanage that got destroyed. Pretty hopeless out there.

    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
