If we draft Marcell Dareus

Problem is, there's not anyone the caliber of a Troy Aikman, Barry Sanders, or a Derrick Thomas ahead of Peterson in terms of sheer talent in this draft. Peterson is clearly the best player this year and IMO the only sure pick.

Tony Mandarich went #2 overall to the Packers that year, so it's not like passing up the CB for a "need" is foolproof either.

no such thing as a "sure pick"

the other holes we have are so large that filling them with so-called risks is a no brainer..

True, Peterson's not a "sure" pick, but it's the one with the least risk involved. People gripe about taking a CB #1 overall but I think taking a risk at #1 is even more of a cause for concern.

"Dt's with the first never amount to anything"

"Deon was the 6th overall. Nobody is as good as he was, so ya can't draft cb at #1 either"

Do you idiots ever listen to yourselves as you make the most bone headed arguments?

Seriously, you'll say anything to talk yourself out of grabbing the best player on the board that would have an immediate impact, just so you can reach for a qb that is not even a top 10 player in this weak draft class.

Bless your lil hearts.

I will be raging! I mean seriously, does anyone think he is worth the #1 pick? Hell, I would rather us draft cam newton than him. He is just a tyson jackson 2.0. He was no where near the conversation until he had a good workout and now everyone is on his c**k. A good college player shouldn't be the #1 pick. He has to be great. Just a loyal panther fan voicing out his opinion.

only casual football fans haven't heard of dareus until recently.

any real scout will tell you that dareus has been in the spotlight since high school, and the only dt ranked higher than him during his college career was ndamukong suh.

read the quote in my sig...

You'll be pissed but I can think of three guys that will be even more upset.

Drew Brees

Matt Ryan

Josh Freeman

So mad that they go out and throw a few more touchdowns on us.

Then we'll get mad and kick a FG or two.

Wasting the number one pick on Dareus would be the mistake of the century.

Heck, just listen to him talk.

i uh likez to football..

I still don't understand how Nick Fairley was so dominant in the same division and was always criticized for his motive yet he racked up 56 tackles, 12 sacks, and 1 interception. I personally like to look at on field production and I really don't understand how a DT with 12 sacks and 56 tackles is seeing his stock falling so far.

I personally think Nick Fairley and Muhammad Wilkerson will have the best careers out of the DT's in the draft this year.

best CB in the history of the game was only drafted #5 overall.. and if you're tellin me this dude is better than Neon.... you guys need to stop smoking whatever you're smoking.

oh and DTs are at least involved in every play that they're on the field for..

That's a totally irrelevant argument. Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round and is one of the top QBs of all-time. Does that mean you should not draft a quarterback until round six? Obviously not.

Sanders was the top player out of that draft so he should have gone no.1. No GM can see the future or else they would have taken him earlier.

And because center's are involved in every play, does that make them more important than a WR. No, any GM in the league will take any of the top 10 receiver's in the game before they took the best center (probably Nick Hardwick). So your logic is flawed there too.

We can try but we can't make you understand football ;)

Ya look at fairley, and I see a guy that isn't committed to his body, that gets by on his ability. Is he disruptive sure.

I look at dareus, and I see a guy who is committed to his body, and craft. He's built like a mach truck, with ferrari agility. Nobody gets lower than him. He's going to win that leverage battle everytime. Non stop motor.

If I choose between them, it's dareus. He's the one who is more likely to have a long, consistent career as a disruptive dt.

only if you stupidly assume that every QB drafted after the 3rd round is expected to be a starting caliber qb

Uhh that percentage still holds even if you count first rounders?

It also holds if you count only second?

And only third?

And only fourth?

And only fifth?

And only sixth?

And only seventh?

And any combo of all the above mentioned rounds?

Another fail :frown2:

Keep trying though. I sense a breakthrough coming on
