The Carolina Panthers' #1 Selection

With all of this pointless debating about who we are gonna take at number one, I want to see who's with me in this regard...

I am completely fine and will be thrilled with selecting any of the following:

LSU's Patrick Peterson

Mizzou's Blaine Gabbert

Alabama's Marcell Dareus

Auburn's Cam Newton

Georgia's AJ Green

Auburn's Nick Fairley

Every one of these guys would be a very nice addition to our franchise and will no doubt play a major role in our ascent back to the top of the league whether it be in the immediate future or over the course of a few years.

So let's step back and realize this amidst all of these annoying back and forth's about Cam, Gabbert, & etc. At least try to be open about taking any one of these guys in the coming months and consequentially the draft will be much easier to absorb.

Sign up if you're with me

Cheers :cheers2:

So basically you are saying you're a fan of this TEAM and that you trust the guys who are paid handsomely to evaluate talent that they'll do a good job and pick the right guy?

hahahaha

Pretty much, but it seems hard for soo many people to actually admit

Given last year's handling of the draft, it's hard for anyone who is a fan of this TEAM to fully trust the guys who are paid handsomely to evaluate talent to do a good job.

Considering we have a completely new staff & along with our GM who has an above avg draft track record imo, I am fine with trusting them. You choose to distrust them and remain mad about last year's draft, I remain chill about whatever may happen because I know there's no way in hell I know what's gonna go down.

Just because Fox's lame duck throw away season didn't create stars outta every draft pick doesn't mean they can't still do well.

Draft picks can't be fully evaluated until 3 years out, sometimes longer.

The jury is still out on last years draft, even though admittedly the outlook isn't exactly positive. Lets give these guys time to suprise us before we bury them.

Let's also give Hurney a chance to draft without John "imsoconservativeidontdevelopyoungplayers" Fox. How was Hurney's last draft without Fox?

That's all well and good, but we still have the same GM... who arguably has a huge hand in draft strategy. And Fox claimed that he had little imput on personnel.

Yeah, but you're talking about "trust" here. You know what they say about it... being earned and not given...

And last years draft is not the only indictment against Hurney. He's made a slew of poor decisions over the years.

you are ahard man to please

I'm really a simple man who appreciates all facets of the game of football and don't get caught up in excitement.

Give me the best player to help this team win as soon as possible.

I'll let you try and convince yourself that player is Cam ;)

    • That's likely going to tell the story. He'll have two weeks to prepare, so no excuses.
    • You don't rotate offensive linemen dude shown me one time thats happened for us that wasnt because of a player leaving due to injury or a jumbo package ill wait.
    • I didn't say I thought throwing it was a bad decision, I said I thought not running those 3-5 yard routes to pick up the 1st down wasn't a great call.  Yes the play worked out, but I didn't love the play call, it's like when a bad shooter is taking a 3 and you're yelling "no no no" as they're going up and then they make it so it worked out. That's still gambling on them to make the play and I take no issue with that. But I just went and watched the play again, we had T-Mac and XL running downfield crossing routes, Coker went in motion behind the LOS and then moved up a yard or two after the snap but not even past the LOS, Sanders chipped the DE and then ran a drag route right long the LOS. The play worked out, but I don't really like that particular play call and route tree with the game on the line on a 4th and 2.  If you want to send one route downfield as an option that's fine, but there were only 2 realistic target options with that route tree and they were both 15-20 yards downfield. This is just before Bryce is going to throw it.   You have 2 players off screen downfield, one player who ran a route that never had a chance to get open and didn't even get to the 1st down line, another player just at the line to gain but late in the route because of a chip (and the worst pass catcher of the 4). Do you really think that was a "good play call" in that situation?
