Should we look at Locker?

This guy is all over the map almost as bad as Cam and Mallett. Some people say top ten and others think he won't go until the second. I don't like him much myself. I would be much happier with Cam/Gabbert/ or Mallett. At number one though I think Cam is the only QB worth that pick IMO. I won't cry if we get Gabbert there either.

Locker though? Not unless it is in the 2nd and we don't have a second.

I think he goes to Seattle.

Basically every top quarterback performed about the same way percentage-wise. Big deal.

depends how you define about the same way, I guess.

which of these are not like the others?

95%, 95%, 94%, 90%, 83%

not that it matters much but they certainly have not all been the same at their pro days. certainly shown different things at them even.

Don't all of you remember anything? Pro days and other scripted workouts mean nothing.

Little is not the same as nothing, but it's still little.

They augment what you already know. They shouldn't change your mind completely about a prospect but they can make it easier to decide between a couple of them.

Plus, you're referring back to something that was rather different from a Pro Day or the Combine.

Of course I was being sarcastic, as you well know. To me, every opportunity you have to gather info pre-draft has some value.

You must admit, though, we have all read on a number of occasions that workouts, combines, and pro days mean nothing. That is at least until people see whether it helps or hurts their argument.

Completion percentage is least important thing at these events. People on twittersphere are saying Locker's was a very easy script. I did not see it so I can only read what was on the twitter. Anyone else see Lockers day?

I did not.

You are very right that completion percentage means very little over all when you are trying to compare Pro Day to Pro Day, but my point was more that they were not all the same, percentage wise. Which is exactly why I said that they have shown different things at them.

Gabbert's pro day emphasized how he could throw balls >15 yards with accuracy. Cam's wanted to showcase his footwork and improvement on the routes he missed at the combine.

No idea on the others as I honestly haven't followed 'em well enough.

edit: ehh, comparing pro days is stupid anyway. wtf.

I completely agree with you. Just sometimes people get too caught up in the completion percentage both good and bad.

If you watch Gabberts and Cams pro days they had some completions that were bad throws and some incompletions that were good throws. It just isn't a great barometer.

But I agree with you in principle.

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
