NFL Exec.: Cam Would Be Clear-Cut #1, If He Were White (And Other Valuable Nuggets)

It's funny, because the white Cam Newton from last years draft didn't go until the 25th pick (when another QB did go 1st overall.)

AND he supposedly had better character and top notch work ethic.

there was no one in any round comparable to Cam last year.

Cbs sports also said the same thing on Freeman. And who cares who said it. The fact that any of these draftniks said it is absurd. and I goes to the larger point. My point isn't about PFW. It is much broader than that.

Racism is in the eye of the beholder. You don't know it until you feel it, and no one can validate or invalidate your feelings.

A fifty million dollar man should expect nasty, invasive, and unfair criticism. Not that Newton has or has not, because none of us really know whose character analysis is the most accurate. My "gut tells me" that all of them are correct, depending on who you ask.

What I will be looking for is comment from Cam Newton. If he starts crying foul, then I don't want the PAnthers to touch him with a ten foot pole. If instead, he demonstrates some self restraint, and declines to comment on the whole race thing, then I will respect him for not aggravating what some would like to call an open wound. All eyes on Cam, are you going to laugh it off? I hope so, because if you want to prove that your levity and your smile are assets, now is the time.

he did so well I think Elway wants to trade him and he lost his starting job the second they hired Fox (and believe me, they knew he would in doing so). lol

And the fans have revolted so hard the local paper said yesterday that they might HAVE to start The Golden Calf of Bristol. I will try to find you a ink.

The Golden Calf of Bristol = Newton

that would be like saying Mike Vick = Josh Freeman. Just b/c you play QB and can use his feet doesn't make them comparable QBs.

There is very little similar about The Golden Calf of Bristol and Newton's skill set.

Just like Obama is a socialist and a communist and a muslim, Cam is a "thug" and a "running qb"

All these nouns are meant to replace the one word they want to say, but can't. I'll give you one hint as to what that is.

This is actually racism on both parts.

While there are some people who will hide behind "buzzwords" that are acceptable in the mainstream, there is plenty of racial connotation involved and for anybody to deny it outright would be silly.

However, there is plenty of times where there is NOT any implication towards ethnicity. Some people honestly believe Obama is a socialist/communist (HI TINDERBOX, I SEE YOU OVER THERE) and do not see past the issues. This means they never even get to the colour of his skin.

tldr; Some of you need to pop some Midol and understand that sometimes when people say "running QB," they mean a QB who is known for his running as opposed to his arm. On the flip side, those of you that are too much of a bitch to stand up for your backwards ass classification system that you've felt the need to impose on the human race as a whole, shoot yourself in the mouth.

So he's either comparable to Russell, a guy that wasn't a good all around athlete, but had a cannon for an arm... or The Golden Calf of Bristol, a kid that is a good athlete, but had a throwing motion so horrible that it knocked him out of the top 5. Maybe It's just me, but I don't see Newton really comparable to either Russell or The Golden Calf of Bristol.

If anything Ryan Mallett should be compared to Jamarcus Russell :iagree:

And Cam Newton a more accurate Michael Vick, coming out of college

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
