jealousy

say you've got a long time friend you've always competed with...lots of us have those. similar interests and goals...so what if that friend starts achieving what you wanted to achieve? does that jealousy motivate you to work harder towards your goals, or simply make you depressed?

i personally do let jealousy get in the way of my motivation sometimes...getting down because someone else is moving farther ahead than me...especially when i don't think they deserve it. but i try to let it motivate me to try even harder. anyone else use jealousy as fuel?

The last few times that I was in that situation, I patted their back, told them they're lookin' good, Then I would say "looks like you're doing good for yourself, proud of ya man". Made them feel good and in turn made me feel good to put a smile on their face. ;)

everyone gets jealous regardless if you admit it or not. I just try to be happy for anybody that is successful. If they are more successful then me then it usually motivates me to work harder.

pssh whatever! who do i have to be jealous of? seriously?

lol i kid i kid, i get jealous sometimes and like you said it motivates me though I honestly don't get jealous much at all. It doesn't bother me to admit others are much better than i am.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
