Bucs To Cut Talib?

Why isn't anyone bringing up the fact Talib is looking at 5-10 years in prison? In Texas if you're convicted of discharging a firearm during another crime, there is no possibility of parole. He was shooting at the guy as he was running away, that alone will kill his defense.

Even if he plea bargains down, which I'm sure he will. He's still looking at a couple of years, then add a lengthy suspension and the current lock-out and his career is pretty much over.

Talib had not shot anyone coming out of college, but was known to have "some red flags" just like everyones boy Cam.

Lets see, there is the laptop thingy, and the cheating thingy, and the dad pimping him thingy, and the Icon thingy........

Once again, I am not saying that is isn't the pick, just saying that you cannot overlook what someone has done in the past and just say people change.

There is a big difference between being a violent person all your life, and making stupid mistakes in your youth. Talib actually got in a fight at the rookie seminar on behavior...that red flag is about 20 times bigger than anything you can find on Cam Newton.

God Damnit. I feel that I am talking to a group of 14 year olds.

Talib had red flags coming out of college.

Newton has red flags coming out of college.

Tampa Bay drafted him any way hoping that he would change.

Talib did not. And by the time he got into the fight at the seminar he was already on the team.

I am not saying that Newton is or is not a saint, but I am telling you all that teams pay attention to red flags when drafting a player this high in the draft......AS THEY SHOULD. Red flags are just that, past problems that you have to do your due diligence on to make sure that they are just that.....Past Problems.

For fugs sake.

If you really want to consider Cam's "red flags" as something to look out for, you might as well add half the draft to that list. I guarantee most of the players have cheated on an exam at one point in their life. I'm willing to bet several of them have received some kind of benefits that violate NCAA rules.

It gets old hearing the same crap over and over again. Especially when none of it matters. Cam has been through multiple interviews with the team and there is still an interest in him from the FO. To me, that shows that all this character issue talk is just a load of crap.

There are different levels of red flags. Not all are the same. So in fact you are unintentionally comparing them by indirectly saying all red flags a college player has going into the draft are on the same level. They're telling you they're not. You came into this thread and brought up Cam. What did you expect?

Shooting people= stealing laptops.

Did Talib shoot, stab, or rape anyone coming out of college?

No. There were just some red flags in is past, just like Cam.

I am not comparing stealing laptops to violent crime, I am merely stating that scouts and owners of NFL teams pay attention to ALL red flags, and for good reason.

Sorry, but a few of the posts here are an absolute joke.

First of all, Cam was not a serial stealer of laptops, he bought one that was hot. And yes, he gave a quote saying he wanted to be an "icon".

Some of you really need to get a grip.
