I'm sure they'd have to go through GRRM to make it something it wasn't, so he probably gave it the okay...

It doesn't bother me because:

1. I'm not a homophobe

2. I'm comfortable with my own sexuality

3. They are actors

Like chris said, it is implied in the books... The Tyrells are actually playing a pretty hard game compared to most...

it is in the books, you just have to look more closely.

Remember all of the fuss about Cercei wondering if King Joffery was marrying a virgin, because suppossedly, even though Margery was married to Renly, he had not broken her "maiden-head"

So, just because he was waiting to have sex with her makes him outright gay? wut?

I understand that's strange, that he wouldn't have sex with her, but dude, inferring that he's gay because he hadn't taken her maidenhead yet (which, honestly, we don't know if she even had a maidenhead. It's also stated later on that "noble girls lose their maidenhead to horses long before their marriage" just because they ride horses all the time).

That's going a little too far.

No that isnt why they think that

They know that he is gay, and that conversation is just an example where they were talking about it. It is in the books.

I'm inclined to believe this is false, given the evidence. But, I think this is more of a "what you read" kind of thing. You may infer that he's gay, I infer that he's not. (Sort of like the whole "Dumbledore is gay!" thing a few years back) And that's fine, it's just a style of reading. (I wouldn't go as far as saying it is in the books. The dude was metro. Metro =/= gay.)

I don't like, however, that there are gay scenes with him and Loras. Because that's definitely not canon, not matter how much you perceive it to be inferred.

EDIT: The fact that there's a gay scene doesn't bother me (all God's children), and I could honestly care less. But, the fact that it's there when it's not in the book is stupid.

jaimie told ser loras he'd stick his sword "some place renly never found"

renly brags to stannis that margery came to his bed a virgin, stannis responds "in your bed she's likely to die that way"

also he's called the "knight of pansies" by the mountain and there are a couple of other sly references

imo george got tired of being asked, so he wanted them to use the show to make it abundantly clear

just google "are renly and ser loras gay?"

there are other hints, but they are major spoilers so i'll leave them out

its one of those things most people don't pick up on until the 2nd or 3rd read

and the rainbow guard? c'mon, you can't be that dense

also at the feast, caitlyn notices that renly pays way more attention to ser loras than he does his blushing bride
