Cam Newton HEARS YOU HATERS!!!!

Awesomeness!!

Recommended Posts

Gruden asked for ONE DAMN play....and Cam could not even articulate that.

Why? Becasue he did not read defenses at Auburn....he did not call any plays....he did not have to go through progressions.

The coach told him to look for one receiver and then take off running if he was open.

Yet, you simpletons believe that he is anywhere near ready to be an NFL QB.

He is a project plain and simple....and that is NOT what you spend a #1 pick on.

He is proving to be what many thought....another "athlete" playing QB that does not appear to have the mental capacity to digest and execute a complex NFL offense.

All I have to say is look at what they said about Clausen & The Golden Calf of Bristol coming into the draft vs the reality of how they both played as rookies. If anything that showed there IS a flaw in the NFL Ready/projects argument talent is talent. Who puts in the work as a pro will be productive point blank. NOBODY knows how these prospects will pan out.

if the coach told him to do that how do you know he does not have the mental capacity to execute an offense? or are you basing your assumptions from a 3 minute clip.

How do you know he does?

Every guy that comes from a simplified college system and hasn't had to make pro-style reads has the same questions asked about them. Why should Newton be exempt?

It's pretty simple actually. If they haven't done it before, then we don't know if they can do it. And like it or not, that is something an NFL personnel man has to factor into their evaluation.

It's a stretch to say that Cam didn't read defenses. He had to read the safety just like every other college QB, and he obviously knew his hot reads because he was good against the blitz.

i dont, but i never stated i did. i like to wait before i make a judgment about some one especially their smarts. Newton should be expected to be asked questions about pro-style reads and what not, but to say he cant from a 3 minute clip is a stretch.

i have no problem with people questioning him, but to say he doesnt have the smarts is carzy. you dont know that he does, or does not yet.

Gruden

On Newton: "I've heard all the thunderstorms about his football character and his work ethic. When I was with him, he was great -- bright-eyed, eager, sharp, coachable, into it, alert, smart. I'd love to have a chance to get this guy. He can run over you and through you. Do you realize he ran for 1,500 yards last year. In the SEC. In the pros, the question will be, Can he handle the grind? I think he'll be wide open to that.''

Coachable and smart eh?

You guys are pitiful, you'd rather have a QB that has no confidence and gets put in his place by Steve Smith. Than one who internalizes the doubt people have, and use it on the Football field. Obviously none of these fans want a franchise QB, something we've never had.

You people know damn well if Peyton said the same thing

He wouldnt.

I could see how using this as motivation maybe to get adrenaline pumping to put forth extra physical exertion, but playing QB is mental. He sounds very emotional, the too dont necessarily mix that well. Why does he need this so-called hate as motivation anyway? He has way more believers than haters.

You and I have plenty of time to make those judgments without consequence.

The Panthers don't. They have a deadline.

When you judge guys that are coming from a simplified system, you can go by things like the Wonderlic and, more importantly, personal interviews and white board sessions. The Panthers were smart this season in that they gave themselves an additional tool by setting up the "playbook quiz".

None of us knows how good - or bad - any of the prospects did in that test. I am glad to know it was done though.

:yesnod: Which is one of the many reasons I feel like he can be a very good QB at the nexts level. He thrives on the pressure, steps up in big games and doesn't seem to get rattled by critics as showed by his play last year.

Maybe we need a leader that has a "Me against the World" attitude on the football field ala Smitty it's why he's one of my favorite players because of the chip he plays with.

The appearance of the quarterback means everything to this bunch. This is the crew that put blind faith in Tommy Jone Jake, and unproven and undrafted Matt Moore but theyre too good to believe in the #1 qb prospect. LOL. This offseason has gone just as i thought. Fans of the worst team in the league afraid of their own shadow. See what losing breeds?

Exactly.

If Cam is the pick, it will not be because of hype.

The staff did their homework and due diligence on several QB's....interviews, whiteboard sessions, playbook, etc...

If he is the pick it is because our staff believes he is the franchise QB.

However, his answer (or lack there of) to Gruden's question really concerns me.
