Most important question this week: Do u trust Hurney & Co

The middle rounds allow GMs to take some risks on players. These are the players that may be good, but have serious questions about them. (Whether it be character concerns, or questioned physical ability)

Thus, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds seem a little worse, because a lot of players, league wide, don't work out.

after the signing and then release of delhomme.....

after the armanti edwards fiasco....

i'm losing faith. frankly, i wouldn't have been disappointed if he was released with fox and company. if he fuggs up this draft and newton fumbles the 900 page playbook and can't wrap his head around it..... then that proves what it will take the panthers to learn over the next 3 years what i know now..... there is no chance in hell we should draft newton.

if we do, then hurney must go.

And really, Hurney is getting a lot of flack for the Clausen pick.... I hated the guy at ND and begged someone to pick him before us so we wouldn't.... but it was not a horrible pick.

1) We needed a QB

2) He's a second round pick so not a huge investment $$$ wise

3) For what some expected him to do he was great value at that draft slot.

Honestly given the situation and the need for a QB I don't think most of us in that position would have honestly passed on him.

Hurney is fine with me except for the 2nd and 4th which he is generally awful at if I recall correctly.

well then he's already fugged up! because he fugged up our 2nd 12 months ago!

so before the draft has even started he's already 50% fugged in your book! (about 75% in mine) he needs a perfect draft in my opinion to keep his job. i know JR isn't in line with me, but that's my opinion. his fug ups the past few years has him on the hot seat with me.

i agree with you there. that really, was almost a no brainer considering our need at the position. he was supposed to be pro ready. i'll take it a step further and say he still has hope possibly.

1) Oline musical chairs

2) RB injuries

3) Rookie WR's

4) Didn't get starter reps in training camp

5) Poor play calling by the OC

all 5 of the above will start with a clean slate this year. Is it really fair to crucify him after the obstacles he faced?

( see what i did? an easter reference. get it? get it?)

I dont trust Hurney AT ALL.. he is getting worse every draft at his first pick

moving up to get E. Brown, then costing us 2 picks on Armanti (who was so bad he couldnt even make it out of PRE-SEASON)

I dont know who we take but I'm sure Hurney will fug it up

I trust Hurney to make trades for no apparent reason than just to make trades...

I also trust Hurney to take who he thinks is the BPA...

I trust Hurney to give no hint of who the team is going to select...

I trust Hurney to be like Beathard...

I trust Hurney to stick with what he knows works

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
