We might trade to get in the 2nd

Depending on what we give up I wouldnt mind moving up into the 2nd to get Aaron Williams, but its gonna take a lot to do that at. Too much for a CB... but hopefully the run of the DL players in the 1st, helps some of the next crop slip down into the 3rd. Follow the board Hurney, follow the board. We'll see how it shakes out.

How did giving up our 2nd round pick in this years draft work for you Hurney?

Yep, that's right, it wen't horribly.

Guess what. Had you not made that move, we would be picking first today, in a prime time position for a trade with with a team that will move up. Make no mistake about it, a team will move up with the Pats. The pats will probably swap seconds and pick up another 3rd this year and maybe another 3rd next year. You could have had a middle 2nd, and three 3rds this year to stockpile this team with young talent. You could have controlled the 2nd day of the draft, but no, you just had to live up to your rep and make a move. You couldn't just sit back and let the chips fall as they may (which probably would have led to us picking up AE 1 or 2 rounds later anyway). I honestly question if you have this franchise best interests at heart by making this move, or are you just hoping to finally hit one of these deals to save you a**.

I honestly can't believe how stupid you really are. You are the same bafoon who wanted to trade away our first this year to move up in the second to draft Jimmy Clausen. You think the media is being tough on Cam Newton, but can you imagine what the would have said about you had you traded away the #1 pick to move up to draft Jimmy Clausen. LOL.

I will not place full blame on you for our epic collapse since 2008, however you shoulder a large portion of it. I don't understand where this careless nature with respect to the draft has come from. You had always preached that building through the draft was very important, and now you throw around draft picks like they are completely expendable.

You have become our Matt Millen. Making ill-advised decisions through the draft, all the while setting the team back for years.

End Rant

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
