Possiblity of Newton Starting

Recommended Posts

I am of the belief that Newton will NOT start at all in 2011. However, I replied to a post on FB and it blew up. So I thought I would get the Huddles opinion.

What is the chance of Newton Starting?

You don't draft a QB #1 over all and not start him when you were the last in every QB stat in the NFL last year..................good God! You must be a wine and cheese fan! lol!

Thats because typically the qb you draft number 1 is able to run an nfl offense. Cam can't even draw up a very simplistic play from Auburn on a white board, he has a looonnnngggg way to go.

Has nothing to do with Wine and cheese... A$$ hole.

Newton is going to be a stud I have no doubt. He has zero knowledge of the pro game and terminology. They used Flash Cards to call plays at AU. Though those may have been complex he will have to learn a new system.

While you think you know it all conventional wisdom is that HE WON'T Start. While you have your opinion calling me names is totally unnecessary!!! Would you get up at 4am in the morning to follow your team?

Doubt so, STFU and Kiss my A$$.

Never called you a name. Just said you were a wine and cheese fan.................however..............now I will. You are a MORON if you think Newton will not start! Yes he has zero knowledge of the pro game terminology. That is why you will be in the bottom of the NFC south for years to come.

I love how armchair GMs have it all figured out.. considering NFL teams are paying them 0 digits, we have some real guru's around here...

take heed to their words.. and become dumber for listening..

if Cam is lucky, he'll have an opportunity to sit a year and let the game come to him. using the argument that he was picked #1 only ensures you handle him with care.

Not throw him to the wolves because you have some stupid philosophy as if you truly know what the NFL is like..

lol I was wondering why his rep disappeared in one refresh.

Newton will start I think. He has the athleticism to be the most effective QB on the roster. What matters is if he relies on that athleticism as a crutch, or if he works hard and takes his game to the next level.

    • Doubling tripling and quadrupling down on this subject in defense of the pick is reminiscent of a certain mindset that has overtaken the political world. This conversation will become less contentious and dragged out to the point of becoming a dead beaten horse if rational minds can simply agree that we made a mistake missed on a potential franchise center and we will learn from it. All this coping is unnecessary.
    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle. Also, “flashed his talent” isn’t 9 carries for 22 yards. His one reception for 18 yards isn’t a flash with 11 other touches for 27 yards. He hasn’t proven anything. We have no idea if he’ll contribute in 2026.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
