I don't remember that.

In fact I'm almost positive he was a corner.

Actually, I'm sure of it: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=122197

While Gamble only played three years at Ohio State, he was an integral part of the 2002 National Championship team, which went 14-0. Gamble played all 3 ways at Ohio State, earning 1st Team All-Big Ten honors, and 3rd Team All-America honors for cornerback. Gamble had 4 interceptions for the 2002 season, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Gamble was known for his game-breaking ability in all facets of the game, including defense, offense, and kick returning.

In 38 games, he started 18 times on defense and 12 times on offense (started on both offense and defense in five contests in 2002). Recorded 65 tackles (51 solos) with three stops behind the line of scrimmage, seven interceptions and 21 pass deflections. Also caught 40 passes for 609 yards (15.2 avg.), rushed six times for 68 yards (11.3 avg.) with a touchdown, returned 60 punts for 467 yards (7.8 avg.) and had 18 kickoff returns for 384 yards (21.3 avg.).

We've got another corner that started as a receiver in college. He's worked out pretty well. Hopefully this guy has the same kind of athleticism as Gamble.

He only played receiver during his first spring game and then once the season started he played CB. He was a QB in high school though

High school positions don't mean a thing. Most NFL players played multiple positions in high school. A lot of them probably didn't even leave the field during the game.

If you keep up with any college football team, then you should know that freshmen and sophmore players change positions all the time, so that's not a big deal at all. Probably about 1/3rd of the skill players in the NFL played QB in HS and/or were recruited as "athletes".

    • Dabo said the timeline is about  3-5 years.  IMO, he has been pretty spot on about college football overall…..and IMO I think he was speaking not off a gut but just the general inside consensus.  the end game is for the top of college football to essentially have their own league/division and that doesn’t just mean Clemson leaves the ACC….it means UGA, Michigan, etc all leave their conference too.
    • So you are a Carolina fan, and the administration knows this, if Carolina goes to the SEC they will be below Vandy and you and I both know I’m not kidding, they have not been the greatest and basketball lately either.  It would be an absolute disaster for Carolina to go to the SEC.  Look at SC, they may finally have something this year but they left the ACC in what?  The 80’s?  What have they done in the SEC in 40 years?  That will be any ACC school that goes to the SEC or the Big 10 and they know it.  Especially Carolina, they have nothing to offer the SEC, we already know that Clemson and FSU has been denied by the board, they couldn’t go if they wanted to…where would they go?
    • This wasn't unknown to the public. It was covered previous to the trade and going back to June in the media. So the Packers would know.  It probably just isnt considered significant.   https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46097336/cowboys-appear-open-micah-parsons-trade-offers
