Steve Smith's 3 Choices

Recommended Posts

Source: Kevin Acee - San Diego Union-Tribune

Kevin Acee, from the San Diego Union-Tribune, says that according to sources with knowledge of the situation the Chargers are taking a monitoring and 'wait and see' approach to Panthers WR Steve Smith. The veteran receiver is unhappy and wants to be traded to either the Raiders, the Ravens, or the Chargers.

The team could add Smith to strengthen the WR corps and give QB Philip Rivers another weapon to throw to. They are expected to keep Vincent Jackson around for at least another year, and added Vincent Brown in the 2011 NFL Draft. Brown could develop into a star receiver, but Smith is ready to step in and start now.

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for Front Range Sports Network and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports via Twitter that Carolina WR Steve Smith wants to be traded and could end up with the Ravens.

Baltimore is set to make a Super Bowl run and adding Smith could help put them over the top. However, they added two wide receivers (Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss) in the 2011 NFL Draft and could pass on the veteran. The Raiders and Chargers could also be in the running to land Smith.

How reliable are my sources you might ask? I've played Fantasy Football for almost a decade. Not those stupid NFL/ESPN.com leagues ether. I play where you a pay $125 entry fee and the reward is a trophy and a ring (no cheap sh*t ether). On average our draft lasts around 6 hours, as we have 12 teams (and it is a keeper league with a 45 man roster).

The guys I play with have incredible amount of experience. The guy who has mentored me (names David) has been to Vegas and placed 3rd among other Fantasy Football geeks (there are about 4 out of the 12 that have ether gone to Vegas or played in bigger leagues). Footballguys.com (my source) is the one he uses, and that most of us use. It's a yearly subscription, but you are the first to hear the information. Which is great, because I can be the first one to the waiver wire and pick up a gem.

I know some moron is going to come in here and say something rediculous and immature, and I acknowledge that in human error that there is always that chance my sources are wrong. But Joe Bryant (footballguys.com main guru) has incredible information, and you are always the first to hear it.

As for Steve Smith, we will wait and see what happens.

PS: I found this via e-mail subscription, you can find more at footballguys.com

Hahahaha man i am sorry but basing your creditability off of fantasy football is hilarious. it would be like someone saying they are a hedge fund manager but really has a Charles Schwab account for his 401k.

I was only setting the stage for why I use footballguys.com

Besides people, this thread is about Steve Smith, make the discussion about that.

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
