Panthers linebacker Jon Beason will be in court Monday for an incident in 2009 in which he is accused of punching a man in the face.

Gary Wright of the Charlotte Observer writes that Beason is accused in a civil trial of attacking Gregory Frye at a club after Frye told Beason’s teammate Donte Rosario that he saw Beason “up at the lake doing coke with some girl.” That remark reportedly enraged Beason.

I honestly didn't know this was still going on. Don't know if Beason really did it or not, but from all I've heard and know about this Greg Frye, he deserved it...

Oh, and I missed this comment at the end of the PFT article:

(No word on whether any charges will be brought against NFL Network for their criminal underrating of Beason in their top 100 player series.)

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but... GO PFT!

If they charged five bucks apiece for the chance to kick Frye in the nuts, they'd likely make a fortune off this board alone.

I'd pay 100 for that opportunity, would wear steel toe boots to make sure he can't infect the rest of society.

Doesn't that Frye dude post on here?

Oh, wait, that's right.....

After the incident, some guys that said they knew him or had hung out with him posted here for a bit. There was plenty of belief that at least one of the "defenders" was actually Frye himself.

Nothing any of them said did anything to change the impression that he's a douchebag / loser / waste of oxygen / whatever.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
