i had to move that until alst year anyway to the end. last year he didn't show professionalism and did enough complaining that he got benched.

hopefully he's past that, but he sure didn't do himself or the team any favors.

I am not sure where his frustration came from last year, whether is was just an injury thing, or the coaching staff, or something else entirely. All I know is that he wasn't his normal self. It really was like he would have rather been somewhere else, because he seemed like a different Gamble. Or at least in my eyes anyway.

I too am hopeful the new coaching staff, with a new scheme, will bring out the old Gamble. Because we could sure use his skills in the secondary. He can be an asset, and I truly believe that.

Just my thoughts, and GOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Isnt Nnamdi like 30? Why would you want to pay a guy a huge chunk of our cap whos already 30? I respect the fact that he is the best corner in the league or one of the top 3 or 4 at the very least, but another 30 year old corner is not the direction I expect to see this team going.

Im not sure if some of you guys are being realistic (with yourselves) about how many wins we will put up this year. Worst to first is possible in the NFL but still nigh fuggin impossible. Find us someone young to get pumped about. . forget about Aso, aint gonna happen.

EDIT: I guess the question to ask you guys who want Aso so badly is, how many wins can we put up if Aso is on our team? Take a look at the schedule and work it out.

A couple of items that may be skewing this statistic.

1) as someone mentioned maybe teams viewed our other CB/S as weak so didn't need to go to Gamble. Richard Marshall is in the bottom 6 for receptions allowed

2) Maybe teams threw more to the RB or into LB coverage against the panthers. In other words they didn't need to go deep to score on us so why bother.

3) Maybe Gamble was used in a blitz scheme more often? Doubt that one though

4) Was Gamble subbed out on key throwing plays?

5) How often was gamble double teaming someone?

Its an interesting statistic either way

I like where youre coming from, but I think when I listen to corners talk about where they rank themselves they often will sight how often they had help from the safeties. If you recall game 1 of last year. Tom Coughlin kicked us in the nuts on the first play by going after our safeties.

It doesnt matter what job you have, if you are part of a team and you know someone is going to fug up, you tend to want to compensate for them (Especially if youre a leader). Most times it will cost you plenty of risk to do so. The NFL doesnt seem to be forgiving compared to other sports in this respect either. These guys get it pretty close to perfect execution on every play. Get out of position or be over aggressive. . pay the piper.

    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
