I love the Tarheels because of the regional history behind the name. I love the Panthers because they are my home town team but i do wish we could have a different name that has something to do with the area. I have tried to think of one but haven't been able to so I guess it will do. Some people call mountian lions a panther so at least we have that even though they're not usually black.

the name "Panther" Is pretty much as ambiguous as the geographic moniker "Carolina", so I like it!
