I Love(ed) my neighbor

My next door neighbors are very nice & quiet people. They have never bothered a soul since living there. They do have a barky dog but he's not so bad.

Today, I checked my mail and got a flyer for a children's day camp. Then I noticed my neighbor lady's name on it. She's a kindergarten teacher and this summer she's making extra money holding this day camp at her house.

Needless to say I'm not happy about it. I really don't want to hear a bunch of screaming youngin's all summer. :(

In some jurisdictions/neighborhoods, that wouldn't be legal. Tantamount to operating a day care center, which requires licensing, etc. You could check into that, if it becomes a nuisance.

Some zoning areas won't allow it either. Plus like Panther Lover said if your neighborhood has restrictive covenants in may not be allowed.

I think its legal up to 4 childs per adult...:leaving:

Yep, it's something like that here too. I think it's 6:1 tho.

My daughter is unhappy about it because they typically invite her over to play & swim when their grandson is visiting 2-4 times a week. She asked me if we were going to have to pay so she could play with him. I felt sad for her.

If your neighbor makes you pay because your daughter wants to play with the kids, the blowing up her house idea comes to mind. but really those people suck if they would charge your daughter to come over and play one day. You're better off not subjecting your kids to that amount of suck.

Ahhhh....the truth sneaks out. It has nothing to do with screaming youngins does it? Your daughter just doesn't have a place to swim 2-4 times a week now so momma can celebrate no pants day in peace. ;)

I say you find out what the "tuition" is, sign your daughter up for 1/2 the price since you are a neighbor, and help a struggling teacher make some extra $$ over the summer.

Win/ Win/ Win

I live next to 6 school baseball fields that have AAU softball tournaments every Sat and Sun 9-10 months out of the year. They are out there every weekend at 6am sharp each day for batting practice and I can hear the "ding" of the aluminum bats. Then there is nothing but a thousand or so screaming kids and parents from 7am till 10pm or sometimes later. It has never bothered me for some reason, in fact I rather enjoy the sounds of the game.

Bunch of screaming kids a daycare next door would drive me insane though.

    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
    • poo I doubt any Bucs fan would trade Baker for BY either lol.
