Final Guess.

Who do you guys think we will land with the #9? Out of all the options I've heard us considering, I want Leonard. My guess is that he will be gone and we have take Singleton.

And I called it a guess, because there are so many fuging options this late in the game that it is fuging crazy.

I think if Kemba falls we take him at 9, if he is gone and Leonard falls to us we take him, Chad Ford said this morning on WFNZ he is high on our board. I also read from Marc Stein we are high on Chris Singleton, but he could also be had a little later like in the early to mid teens, so I think if it looks like there is no shot at Kemba or Leonard we trade and pick Singleton for probably a team that wants Jimmer of Klay Thompson.

I don't see them making a pick at the 9th spot at the moment, right now I'm actually expecting that both Stephen Jackson and Boris Diaw being traded at some point today. The 9th pick being moved out for a starter at the SF position and the team drafting a Center at some point.

Maybe a trade with Houston or the Spurs...

Also not out of the question is the team trading way back and picking up a first in next years draft.

If they stay put, I'd go with Marcus Morris at 9 then the best available big at 19.

i honestly have no clue as there have been so many rumors and are so many options...i think if we stay at #9 and kemba is there, jordan is gonna draft him and then look to trade DJ...i think kemba is kinda the cam newton of this draft...most dominant player in college bball last year...big time name...i just think jordan is enamored with him...if kemba is gone and we stay at #9 i think marcus morris will be the pick...that being said i could easily see us trading back for more picks or swinging a pick for a young veteran player...i think there is a strong possibilty that jackson or diaw is traded tonight

If they keep 9 then I say Leonard or Biyombo.

I had a dream last night that we drafted Kemba. Could be wrong could be right but that's my vote.

:cuss:

trade with Houston for the 14th and 23rd..

14- Jordan Hamilton or Marcus Morris (Singleton gone by now)

19- Nikola Vucevic

23- Kenneth Faried

39- BPA

Sounds good.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
