25% of my spine...

Jackofalltrades

Recommended Posts

Is to be fused on Weds the 13th. Fusing T-3 thru T-11, which is also 75% of my thoracic spine. Not looking forward to the procedure, but I have high hopes for the long term prognosis.

Anyone have any experience with fusion? I'm looking for tips, wisdom or general heads up as I try to prepare for this mentally and physically.

Unfortunately, this crap will likely keep my from my annual journey to Spartanburg for TC- provided a CBA is done in time, which is my biggest regret at this time.

Prayers are also welcome.

look to find a very knowledgeable massage therapist.. I expect if you're anything like my dad, you're back will need adjusted from time to time.. maybe even every week in the beginning..

do yourself a favor and never pick up anything heavy (or over 15lbs) again..

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I had to decide between fusion and lots of physical therapy plus an obtrusive back brace for six months after having compression fractures to T3-T8 ranging between 25% and 40%. I chose the brace. I'm not sure how that's going to work out for me in the long-term. I hope your recovery is as quick and painless as possible. If you don't have a Netflix subscription, get one now!

    • So funny see people continue to talk like Darnold isn’t one of the best QBs in the NFL for the second season in a row. Two different teams and situations, he is for real and not just a product of the system.   He struggles under pressure lol what QB doesn’t? Did anyone watch Mahomes in the SB?
    • While I was aware that Horn does not shadow WR1 I learned something interesting in the game from one of the announcers ... Horn ALWAYS plays the short side of the field.  As in, he will switch sides when the ball moves from one hash tag to the other. It seems intuitive that short side of field equals easier route coverage (correct me if I'm wrong) and expanding further I wonder if Mike Jackson was put into that role would his stats improve? If Horn is such a shut down corner, why isn't he just following the biggest WR threat around the field? Is there something inherently harder about covering the short side of the field?  Why make life easier for your best CB?
    • I wonder what the true state of Chuba's calf is? I remember it being mentioned a couple of times last year that it was something they were managing then after the Cardinals game last year we put him on IR. He then reinjured it this year. That would seem to explain why he looks slower and less explosive than in years past. Chubas running style was a one cut explode through the hole type of back and it just doesn't look like he has that ability right now.
