Why isn't Carolina targeting more WRs?

From my point of view I see only 1-2 NFL caliber receivers on your roster right now, and one of them is in the twilight of his career. Shouldn't it make you nervous that Cam may have limited targets in his 1st season?

It usually takes a year or two to develop a WR. You bury them if you bring in a bunch. In the last 15 months we have brought in Gettis, Lafell, Pilares, and Edwards. Give them time. You might see what I mean this year. Suppose it is like your first round pick Meachum.

I will go ahead and say it now: Watch this undrafted free agent Jamorris Warren from the Mules of Central Missouri. He is big, fast, runs good routes, and has excellent hands. He will be on the roster within a year, if not immediately. By the end of the year, Saints, Bucs, and Falcon fans will be referring to the best young group of WRs in the NFL.

What has Josh Freeman's WR corp looked like in Tampa? Cam will be fine. Adding a vet WR probably isn't going to be the deciding factor in what happens w/ Cam.
Josh Freeman got lucky because they drafted a WR that turned out to be a rookie of the year candidate.

He also has Kellen Winslow one of the best TE's in the league.

Josh's rookie year he had Antonio Bryant a 1,000 yard WR from the year prior.

Also, I didn't say adding a vet would be a deciding factor in what happens to Cam.

I said adding a veteran WR, especially a great route runner like Derek Mason that knows the Coryell system, can only help Cam.

I am almost wondering if they plan to use Olsen out of the slot on some sets. That could be a major mismatch having him go up against a safety leaving Shockey to work against linebackers. Pick your poison there.

All you really need are two nice WR options..... but I worry there isn't going to be enough ball to go around as it is with all these big personalities. Smith and Shockey are already going to have a tough time getting their touches with all these weapons we have offensively.

Getting Olsen is a bigtime move.

Olsen+Smith is a good enough duo to build your offense around.

Whatever Shockey or another WR can bring is a bonus.

This signing greatly reduces the need for a vet WR.

Why is everybody crapping on this thread?

Since I've been here the average age of this board has dropped like an anchor. Most of the kids here can't fathom having a civil conversation with another fan. I don't hate another NFL team or fanbase-that's what the SEC is for.
