How quickly will the narrative about JR in the media change

From being a cheapskate that is too cheap to pay anyone to an owner that is too aggressive and over pays.

So far this free agency period these national media types have been pooing on nearly our every move. They have this misguided and stupid idea that the Panthers are so bad that they should not even try to keep their best players, i.e. Johnson, Smitty, D-Will. And just let them walk off as if that is somehow the recipe for becoming competitive. It is almost as if they have never seen a Panthers game before.

I know this is blatant homerism and unrealistic but nothing would give me greater pleasure than to have an amazing season next year and be competitive just for the simple reason that I will blow up every one of their fugging twitter accounts or email boxes and force them to eat crow for pooing on our organization.

Let's hope our players have the same piss and vinegar that the fans do right now and go out and whoop some ass this season and talk sh*t the whole way to the playoffs!1111!!!11!1

And I will beat you guys to it.

The media says JR is a cheap owner, the fact is he was a cheap owner last year.

Only an idiot would call JR a cheap owner. As a fan I know he isn't cheap that is why last year made me so angry, it was obviously deliberate.

It's nice to see how aggressive he is but don't forget the price we paid. I will never forget the 2010 season, unfortunatley.

You have to like how the offense has been upgraded so far. Honestly I don't know how to act. We finally have a franchise QB and now a first round TE. Both positions that Fox ignored for the most part.

With our aggressive defense under Rivera, we actually could be a pretty big threat on offense and defense.

If nothing else JR did exactly what he said would do. he has been aggressive in free agency, has make great strides to fix the offense and has patched up holes in the defense. I am pretty excited about the season which after last year is a total turnaround for me. Amazing what a few draft picks and a 100 million dollars can do for the team, LOL.

Dunno who your team was before the Panthers, but as a Cowboy fan that suffered through 1-15, one Lombardi wipes out everything. Hell, look at Bucs & Saints fans! They had decades of 2010 like seasons, yet act as if they held dynasties.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
