Cap Space?

We won't have any, much left I believe. We still have to re-sign Kalil, expect a 5-year 35 million dollar contract.

This would actually save us money this year, that would take his cap number to 6-7 mil, down from around 10-11 mil it is this year bc of the franchise tag.

i don't know if it has been released how the contracts are broken down per year (it won't be an even split between each year) so it's going to be hard for anyone other than someone actually dealing with the cap to know. all anyone can do it guess at this point.

Yeah, exactly. My last post was based on even splits every year, which obviously isn't the case. I've tried tweeting John Clayton, twice, and asking him, but he hasn't responded.

for all we know even with all the contracts we've signed hurney could've partitioned the deals in such a way that there's still enough money left to get a starting corner

I'm actually hoping we have little cap available and the contracts where somewhat front loaded so that we can have lots of room to spend in future years... Especially if we get to the point we only need 1 major big time piece to put us over the top.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
