I mean this is a message board. it shouldn't be taken too seriously. I agree that it's important to keep asshats like that guy who said Beason died in check, and you obviously want to keep the racial stuff out....but even with the dicking around on here there is still intelligent conversation. The less moderation = the better.

Some people on here take this wayyyyyyy to seriously, and it shows. I saw somebody get an "infraction" for calling another poster an idiot. LOL. Idiot is a such a subjective word. Would he have got an infraction if he said: Excuse me sir, but your mental fortitude is below average, and it is apparent you have an uneducated opinion.

Message boards are the bathroom stall of teh internets.

I also expect several: If you don't like it, GTFO

Zod you should just be grateful that this website flourished unlike the other panther fan sites and let it be.

The amount of moderation and selectivity of applying it is a huge reason this site has been successful.

He's right. It's just not funny or amusing anymore and it allows retards to bring everyone down to their level by not engaging in an actual discussion. This board needs an enema.

I think once the season gets going the stupid pic/gif takeover threads would have slowed down and there would have been more talking, just like in past seasons. But this summer was different, no football, nothing. So the stupid threads were made and it was fun. :)

I am sure the arguments and the occasional pic or gif will still get posted. same as always. But if a stupid thread gets started it needs to be ridiculed and destroyed. same as always.

Agreed, I've thought about that as well. And the one's you make are usually funny and original... It's the 4chan stuff and old memes that are destroying a lot of threads.

"Hai, look my pic with the same words on it is cooler than urs!!!1"

That's pretty much what it turns into... Hopefully the idiots will filter themselves out or tone it down when we get to see some football.

I agree that an infraction for calling someone an idiot is weak for the reason you explained, however it goes to trying to curb the number of personal insults and that's a little to blatent to just overlook.

I don't necessarily agree with some of the infractions I've had doled out, but it's the principle that Zod wants to maintain that I must keep in mind. People shouldn't be bashed or insulted for having differing opinions and that happens far too ofter here.

I'm a very lenient mod and I intend to keep it that way, but sometimes people who are given an inch and try to run off with the mile, that's when I try to step in. Racial crap is my pet peeve, so I'm pretty quick on that.

I was admin on another site that was very strict and it ran a lot of people off, that site is barely hanging on now, but it was nice to never have threads derailed by a lot of senseless BS.

this is dumb. gifs and pictures are cutting edge (lol) in the world of internet humor. it's the new way to express humor succinctly and uniquely, and it's one of the things that keeps this site special. it's informative, but at the same time it's hilarious.

granted i don't want to see HURRR DURRRRRRRRR captioned pictures of some dumb dick flaming legitimate intelligent threads and sidetracking them. but if some complete doofus starts a thread about how arimandi edwerdz trade was duuuuumz lol! i have no qualms about posting a picture of a hilarious owl that says "not sure if srs."

(see wouldn't this response be so much better with pictures?)

      We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.

      I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.

      Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
