We'll find out this year. He's the only corner we've got.

If he can be a TRUE shutdown corner (there are only 3 or 4 of those in the league IMHO) our defense will be very good. We can roll the safety to the other side of the field and .... yummy.

Gamble is solid. Probably a top 10 CB. He's not elite, but he's more than good enough. He rarely gets beat...I dunno where that came from. I like the point rico6 made, our pass defense has been quite good for a while and there has really been no one to attribute that to more than Gamble. He's the best player in our secondary and that secondary has been pretty good for a few years now.

I don't think Gamble is a true shutdown corner. There's only 2 of those in the league, in my opinion. Revis and Nnamdi. Gamble is a very good coverage guy and he doesn't get thrown at that often. It's usually our other CB that gets picked on.

yea our passing yardage given up hasn't been too excessive, but take a look at our rushing yards given up. Teams don't need to pass when they are running it down our throat all game long.

The Panthers gave up 3.9 yards per carry against them last year. That's tied for 7th best.

Hes not flashy, not a perennial pro-bowler. Gamble is good, starting caliber corner. Hes slightly above average...good enough to handle some of the top receivers in the NFL. we could do A LOT worse.

So you agree we need to draft a legitimate #1 corner. I was hoping we would do it this year, but obviously the glaring hole at QB made that impossible(thanks JIMMY) If you think Gamble is a good number one, Imagine him as a #2.

Nnamdi is overrated, kthx. :/ Also, interceptions mean a lot, being able to catch a interception and still make sure the wide receiver you are covering never gets it are two important factors, Nnamdi has been good at dodging criticism because of his ability to bat down balls, etc. Would rather have several other CB's besides Nnambi to be honest, and there are other CB's I'd want over Gamble but Gamble is still a good CB.

Nnamdi dodges criticism because he shut downs most opposing teams #1 WR. What CBs exactly would you take over Nnambi?
