On a serious note... Do NOT turn it in @ the stadium... Call the Stadiums lost and found... Leave your information so that u can be contacted if the person who lost their camera can contact u... Or the stadium could contact u... I wouldn't take it to the Stadium so that a Janitor has a new camera

Turn it into the lost and found. It seems as if you're only asking the huddle because you won't feel as bad since you "tried" finding its owner. Do the right thing.

Not really, but nice try bro..

Like TCF said I left my info with the lost and found, if they report it lost ill get a call and we can get it returned to the owner. But I went on here to have an alternative outlet for them to find it.

If I wanted to keep it I wouldn't have said anything about finding a camera you idiot

Hey, hat goes off to you. There is no real way of actually finding the owner. Turning it in is "technically" the right thing to do, but hell, I see no problem in taking it. It's possible the person even says screw it and doesn't even worry about it. Then there is the chance that you turn it in to lost and found and somebody there takes it.

Just like if you found a paper bag with $2,000 in it. Do you REALLY turn that in? In this economy, the answer is no. Finders keepers, bitch.

I will add, I would put an ad in the paper as well. Worse case, if money is tight, you do that and ask that, if you find the owner, they pay you back for at least half of what the ad cost you.

that is one of the most flagrantly asshole things i've ever heard anyone have the balls to come out and say.

i hope you lose something extremely important to you so you can see what it's like to hope beyond all hope that the person who found it is a more honest (read: better) human being than you.

Easy there, Nancy. No need to get uppity about it. I'm just saying, if it sits there, then nobody gets it, it gets ruined, nobody wins. If you take it and turn it in, there is a CHANCE the owner gets it back, but it is doubtful. If you take it and make an attempt at finding the owner, it is the same as turning it in to the lost and found. About a 50/50 chance of the camera finding it's way back to the original owner. Therefore, taking it, trying to find the owner, and if all else fails, keeping the camera is not necessarily unethical or an "asshole thing" to do. It is merely a case of finders keepers.

If I lose something, yeah, I hope somebody tries to locate me. But if I never find it or get it back, no matter it's importance, it is my fugging fault for losing it in the first place. You know how many debit cards I've had to cancel? You know how many different nick-nacks, some of which held some significance to me, that I have lost? A lot. Have I gotten some of them back by good people who tried to find me? Yeah. Again, about a 50/50 chance.

I don't think you can call me a "bad" person (or a lesser person than the good Samaritan that turns it in to people who, in all likelihood, will never find the owner) for saying taking it is not necessarily the "wrong" thing to do. I think it is fine, as long as you do make an attempt at finding the owner. But, way to cherry-pick and ignore the part where I mentioned that.
