Official Panthers/Giants Tailgate Thread

Time to start a new season of tailgating again! Seems like forever since the last one. Anyways the Huddle is again for the 7th year in a row (61 tailgates in a row) providing a free tailgate for any and all that show up. Mostly Panthers fans, but also opposing fans and every homeless person that shows up as well. You never know who you’ll meet on gameday here.

The Huddle has been fortunate to have generous sponsors every game to provide free food and non-alcoholic drinks to everyone that shows up. In return the people that partake leave a donation that, because of the sponsors, 100% goes towards a year end bike donation to Toys for Tots. We’re talking upwards of $20,000 and 600 bikes to date have been donated to the Marine Corps Reserve during this time.

This week’s sponsor is Kings Mountain Auto Brokers. KM Auto Brokers is located in Kings Mountain on Hwy. 74 Bypass at the intersection of Bethlehem Rd. Please visit them for all your automotive needs or call 704-579-1099.

This week’s fare will be burgers and dogs with all the trim. Assorted sodas and waters will be available. Here’s the usual info:

Where: We are located at the intersection of 3rd st. and Poplar. We are located in a large parking lot that borders 3rd, poplar, and church st. congregating at 3rd and poplar. Look for the carolinahuddle.com banners, tents, and loud music.

What: Food, music, drinks (non-alcoholic) and friendly Panthers fans. Shade to beat the heat.

When: We’ll start at 3pm this week. Maybe earlier. Food will be over at 7:30pm.

Who: Anywhere from 50 to 100 fans each week all somehow connected to this website.

How much: The parking lot is $20 to park there but you don’t have to park in the lot to tailgate with us. Many take the light rail for a few dollars and walk down or park a few blocks back for cheaper and just walk up.

When you show up and partake, please donate as much as you can to our cause. It’s a labor of love for us, but at the end of the day don’t discount what you saved by not bringing your grill, food, drinks, etc. and what it would cost you for a day of tailgating, shopping, and energy cooking. Remember 100% of your donation goes to charity. Hard to find many others that claim that nowadays.

Disclaimer: There will probably be loud music. The Huddle does not police adult behavior at tailgates so while kids have a blast at tailgates, we can’t be responsible for what they may see or hear during the time. Remember if you drink alcohol you’re responsible for bring your own and keeping it cool.

Any other questions this is the thread to ask.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
