Do any of you know a really bad lawyer who works cheap?

In the Winston Salem/Greensboro area?

My idiot brother inlaw got popped for a DWI. Not only was he driving drunk, he had my 3 year old nephew in the car with him. They found him passed out on the side of the road and took him to the hospital. Test showed his blood alcohol level was .19.

And he doesn't have a job and hasn't really been looking for one. But my sister hopes he will turn it around, so she ask me to help them out. But I want him to do some jail time.

From what I have read about NC DWI law, he probably will. But if I can help the process in any way, I will.

You could call the DA and ask to be heard as a witness, then tell the judge your concerns. It's open court and everything will be on record so you have to decide how to proceed with your sister.

My pet peeve is drunk driving, I was in the front seat when my mom was arrested for DUI when I was 12 and my bro was 8.

She was sentenced to probation based on getting treatment at Black Mountain. It worked, she was sober after that. Unfortunately it was too late as she died 6 months later because the alcohol had already done too much damage.

Wow...just wow. You should find your sister a divorce lawyer instead. No excuse for that...just my 2 cents.

Damn, 3 year old in the car with him.

Fugger has 2 choices if I'm his wife.

AA and sobriety or divorce court.

Deac, did the poor kid get taken into protective custody or did the cops allow someone to come get him?

send him to the public defender

and he or she might necessarily not be a bad lawyer. lots of PDs I know are young or just want a set salary in a time of economic turmoil.

    • I don’t want to see another high pick put into WR or offense that isn’t OL or QB. At least not again it would make something like 5 straight years, we are at 4 straight years with 1sts and 2nds used on the position now. Too much to have one player left from all that. So he gets another go at it afaic.  If they can bring in someone to compete with him that is undrafted, a FA on a prove it deal, some cheaper route, go for it.
    • Because Bryce can’t throw a true deep ball.
    • The original hope was that he was just raw, and with some coaching he could blossom into a big time playmaker. Turns out he’s not just raw, he’s got no fundamentals or mentals of any kind really. You keep him as long as he’s cheap and try your best to coach him up no matter how futile it may seem.  When the time comes you cut him loose.
