reading that mid to long range throws are the basis makes you think about Clausen?

On top of Clausen not be willing or able to make them thus far....it also requires a QB to make them from in the pocket.

Clausen may have the 10 yard passes down, but I still can't get over the fact that he can't see over the line and has a low release... 10 yards or 50 yards doesn't do any good if the DT's knock the ball down.

Clausen would have to light it up and Newton fail for that to happen. You don't draft a QB first and not play him, no matter how well your current QB is doing. Just ask Drew Brees...
