Hurney was VERY dumb for giving him a new contract.

I got no problem w/ a new deal.......they just overpaid him considering he has been made of glass for seasons. Could of gotten him for cheaper w/ less guaranteed......

i love how we as fans know what players would actually have signed for, keep it up

lol, I love how people fall back on that all the time....the ole we can't comment on actions of the Panthers being flawed b/c we don't work for the NFL.

it ain't rocket science.....they had already made it known they wanted to take care of the guy (that was personal, not professional). They didnt' have to pay him what they did in order to keep him as a Panther.

Did Bob Sanders have anyone offering him a sweet deal like that this offseason? No, Bob Sanders is a piece of glass......and teams ain't gonna put much of an investment into that type player regardless of talent.

Knew this would happen.

The moment davis gets hurt, the dumbasses come out declaring that hurney shouldnt extended one of the best football players the panthers have. ..and we gave him to much.

Gawd, this fan base is one ignorant group of fans.

One of the best players who hasn't played a full season in two years, yeah we're dumbasses. Two ACL tears are no big deal, after all it only holds your knee together.

here are some critical points from his deal..from Pat in the NFC South Blog:

"The Panthers didn’t want Davis to feel like a victim of that rule, so they made it a point to extend his contract. It now runs through 2015, but there is protection built into this deal in case Davis can’t come back as something close to the player he was before the injuries."

"The real key will be how Davis performs this season. If he fares well, he’ll be well paid going forward. If he struggles, Davis probably won’t be with the Panthers next season. That’s because his deal includes an $8 million option bonus for 2012. If the Panthers pay that bonus, they’ll also be paying bigger salaries to Davis down the road."

"Bottom line here is the Panthers have secured their rights to Davis for the short term. If he’s able to fully recover, he’ll be taken care of for the long term."

You have got to be one of the biggest idiots on this board. You show everyday.

Ignorance must truly be bliss.

You are acting like davis got a huge deal. He didnt. Not even close to being a huge deal. So quit crying like a lil bitch.

8 mil up front is nothing in today's NFL. You'll bitch every time he gets hurt. Guess what. The NFL is pretty hard core. People get hurt all the time. Accept that fact, or stop watching if you cant handle it. Stop acting like you can do better. You don't even have a clue.
