Wanna trade with the Bears again?

From the Red Zone: Johnny Knox could push for a trade

Iffy on the idea myself. Lord knows he's fast and could be used in a DeSean Jackson type role, but I'm not sure how durable he is and I think we may already have enough receivers to pick from. If it weren't for the Gettis injury, I doubt I'd even look at this.

Still, we've had good luck trading with the Bears of late, and Olsen would likely have some insight to offer on whether it'd be a good idea or not.

Worth a thought, but I'd likely say no to anything higher than a late round pick in return.

has anyone heard the severity of the gettis injury yet?

Not a word.

If it isn't bad, I wouldn't give this notion much more thought. Looked like it might be though :(

That, plus Rivera doesn't generally seem all that thrilled with our receiving corps.

He is pissed that he would be the #3-#4 WR in Chicago.

With Naane, Gettis, LaFell , etc on the roster.....he would not be guaranteed to be any higher than that here.

Assuming Gettis is healthy. Plus LaFell doesn't exactly seem like Rivera's favorite player right now.

As a pure vertical threat, something the Coryell offense can use, he's worth a look.

That said, Mike Martz runs a version of a Coryell offense and he considers Knox "inconsistent".

(though in fairness he also considered Greg Olsen trade worthy)

Again, I'm iffy.

I agree that he is worth a look from our perspective.

Given "why" he wants a trade is what would concern me.

Seems he is pissed that he is not the #2 WR now....seems like a whiney little bitch to me.

    • It depends on what version of bad we are getting. Can't have the locker room tearing apart over it.
    • I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.
    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
