Matt Moore won’t get any snaps with Dolphins starters

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 16, 2011, 10:31 AM EDT

APThe Dolphins talked all offseason about wanting to bring in true competition at quarterback for Chad Henne.

They brought in Matt Moore instead. Despite what Dolphins fans may want after a rough preseason start by Henne, Moore isn’t going to be competition for Henne anytime soon.

Tony Sparano made that clear with his words on Friday night, and re-emphasized his point on Monday. Moore is not taking any snaps with the starting unit. He won’t in the second preseason game either.

“I can’t worry about it,” Moore said via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “The competition is always going to be there. . . . So hopefully I’ll be ready if and when my number is called.”

At this point, the Dolphins will ride or die with Henne. They may as well give him as much rope as possible because turning to Moore will be a sign their season is already getting desperate.

I think that San Fran is trying to tank the season to get Andrew Luck, seriously.

Bring in Luck's former college coach. Re-sign Alex Smith to a one year deal. Cut veterans. Bring in Braylon Edwards as a down the field threat. Lose games.

its sad that sparano is putting his job on the line for Chad Henne. The guy is going to get a lot of people fired next offseason.

Sparano can't stand Henne...

People here just over inflate Moore because of his minnesota game..

It's amazing how stubborn people here are for this guy..

Fox won't play him? Fox is just dumb.

Moore comes in and plays and sucks? He just caved to the pressure/injury/blah blah blah

Rivera doesn't want him? Moore just wanted to compete for a job!

Sparano won't play him? Sparano is just dumb.

Amazing that people here can't put two and two together.

When I was growing up, I had a friend, he was my best buddy, still is in fact, even if I hardly ever get to see him.

This friend growing up had TERRIBLE luck with relationships, at least that's what I thought anyways.

For the first few girls, I thought he just ended up with some typical, lying, skanky trash.

But then I began to notice something.

All his relationships ended the same way, with the same problems.

So I questioned him about it, dug a little deeper than I had before.

And I found that he was common denominator in all these relationships..

HE was the problem..

Surely you understand what I am trying to say..?

No not really. If he hates him so much why is he all over his nuts? Matt Moore isn't the bestest QB in the world, Ya I said Bestest, but Henne is looking horrible.

Your post makes no sense

We've had 3 coaches not want Moore.

Somehow, the fan base interprets that as:

"THE COACHES ARE D-U-M DUM!!!

It makes perfect sense, even if you don't want to accept it.

Let go of Minnesota, man.

    • Good, our ST is almost as bad as our ILB depth!
    • With two starters on expiring contracts (Moton + Corbett) as well as a few back-ups (Christensen, Mays, and Nijman), the Panthers are likely going to have to reinvest in the OL after this coming season. Icky's fifth-year option was picked up by the team this offseason while Lewis and Hunt both remain under contract then (though Lewis' deal is set-up in a way that would let Carolina move on from him then as well). I think that the team is going to be looking at investing a premium pick at RT should Bryce's development continue, and might even look to double dip at the position in order to have a swing tackle that can also kick inside when needed. There's also the question of starting center... Prospects I'm watching this upcoming college season... Centers Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Connor Lew (Auburn) Logan Jones (Iowa) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Bryce Foster (Kentucky) Pat Coogan Notre Dame) Raheem Anderson (Michigan) Carson Hinzman (Ohio State) RTs Francis Mauigoa (Miami) Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) Spencer Fano (Utah) Gennings Dunker (Iowa) Blake Miller (Clemson) Isaiah World (Oregon) Caleb Tiernan (Northwestern) Monroe Feeling (Georgia) Earnest Greene III (Georgia) Monroe Mills (Louisville) Charles Jagusah (Notre Dame) Tree Babalade (South Carolina) Trey Zuhn III (Texas A&M) Nolan Rucci (Penn State) Tristan Leigh (Clemson) Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) JC Davis (Illinois) Riley Mahlman (Wisconsin) PJ Williams (SMU) Tosh Baker (Notre Dame) Aki Ogunbiyi (Texas A&M) Courtland Ford (Kentucky) Ethan Onianwa (Rice)
    • I watched documentary on the 2010 Auburn season and Cam wasn’t included in that either. I think he just doesn’t care for these things
