Rivera should hit the brakes on picking QB

Give it to Cam, and let him lose the job if he plays bad. Rivera needs to decide who's going to get all of the #1 snaps as soon as TOMORROW.

Like it's already been said, Cam's just the more solid option that gives this team the better chance to win games.

If Cam flops, sit him, and let Jimmy become trade bait.

Cam has played 4 quarters and his drives are responsible for 3 points.

Jimmy has played 3 quarters and his drives are responsible for 17 points. Right now Jimmy being in the game produces more points. Cam will eventually be the guy but right now you've gotta go with Jimmy.

Hate to break this to you, but most medical schools are hands-on from the get go.

No one graduates from med school just by acing multiple choice tests and writing some papers.

this is an awful analogy, but med school is more like practice, residency is more like pre season, and the regular season is more like getting your first job at a hospital or clinic or wherever..

Its got to be Jimmy. It's gonna be a real surprise if he gives the job to Cam, based on production on the field. Newton is Rivera's pick, so I'm sure he want's Cam to start. For me it all comes down to putting drives together and scoring points, both Jimmy did better (not by a long shot, but none the less better).

I personally don't think Cam played as poorly as lost of you seem to think he did, but I guess I'm in the minority.

He looked like a rookie-sure-but made notable progress in a lot of areas.

Going through his reads, most notably.

I really thinkthe future is bright for the guy, just gonna take a little time.

Jimmy's had one year starting in the NFL, which shows. He seems to be better than last year. But checking down will not lead to wins. Although I did see more deep balls from him tonight.

I still think Cam should start at this point. I just wish he'd stop smiling like he's playing in a celebrity charity game. Where's his game face??

I hope we take the Tampa bay route. They started Josh Johnson for part of the season and then started Josh Freeman. I would like to do that with Jimmy and Cam.

we can't really say that helped freeman though..he got better as he played more over the last games.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
