Would you be upset if we traded J-Stew?

Yes, for the right compensation. Stewart is a beast, but he's injured, all the time. He's never made it to the first regular season game without an injury in his life. But, we won't get what he's worth, because RB's get hurt, all the time. However, since we have a stable of capable backs, we should keep them as long as we can. It's no wonder if we had to sign DWill, and our team is looking smart even though people thought we overpaid. We could be going into the season with Sutton and Goodson right now. Maybe only Sutton/Vaughn. Goodson probably wouldn't make the flight on the account of dropping his plane ticket over and over at the airport and missing the flight.

You don't know what the heck you're talking about, yes he misses training camp and the pre-season but he's always been healthy for the first regular season game. Must've confused him with D-will.

This team doesn't look at Jonathan Stewart as the back-up. We run a two back system, it's 1A, and 1B. A guy like Sutton is a back-up. J-Stew won't leave, consider the growing promise of this team and the fact that splitting carries is en vogue in today's NFL wherever he goes he will share time.

His best bet is to do it for a team, and staff he's familiar with.

bad idea. for several years (at least 3) this will be a run heavy team while newton learns his job and is slowly asked to do more (just like has been done with all green QBs in recent years). even after he learns the job this offense will still be running the ball a lot.

we need to keep the strong points strong and build around them.

RB's...especially one with lingering ankle issues....have virtually NO trade value in the NFL.

You had guys like Ronnie Brown, Marshawn Lynch, Cedric Benson, etc. taking one year deals. What makes you think that a team would give much for Stewart?

I agree.

The RB position is becoming viewed as a "Dime a Dozen" position. I'm not saying JStew is a Dime a Dozen type player, but, it's much easier to take a flyer on a RB in the late rounds of the draft, than it is to trade for one.

Heck, Derrick Locke is still undrafted, as far as I know.

Stewart is a top 5 talent, no way in hell do I trade him. Cut the poo with the unhealthy stuff. He has never missed a game, who gives a sh1t if he makes practice or not. The guy put up 200 yd performances and 20+ TD's as a back up in 3 seasons, all the while not being "100%". Personally I think I'll wait to see what he can do at 100%.

I would be more disappointed than upset. He is young and a perfect back up to DWill. And when DWill loses his step in (hopefully) 2-4 years, Stew can become the number one and DWill can back him up. So it is a perfect future role reversal.

So yeah, I'd be pretty upset.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
