Would you be upset if we traded J-Stew?

I think Stewart is more valuable than Williams at this point. He doesn't end up on the IR at the end of the year and should be our number one guy. Still not pleased with the re-signing of Williams with all of the other needs we need for this team. (DT, CB, WR)

I don't see how he is going to be like Turner. At some point he will be better than (and might be now) Dwill and the carries will go more towards him. Dwill isn't a little bitch like LT was and demand to remain the starter. We can see their relationship is much different than what was going on in SD.

Connor and Clausen are the best options to trade.

Goodson would be in there too if he didnt catch fumblitis in game 1 =\

LT just wanted to remain getting starter money. GM AJ Smith is not an easy person to deal with and sometimes takes inside business public as he did with LT. He was a dynamo for the Bolts for 8 years and earned every penny. First ballot HOF and a former NFL Walter Peyton Man of the Year I would never refer to LT as a bitch.

MHO.

I'm not sure I even know what a first ballot HoFer is anymore, since Cris Carter didn't make it on the first ballot.

I agree with everything you said.

I think the relationship between Stewart and Dwill is much different then what happened in SD.

and that's one factor that can become a problem.

how much does carolina pay stewart to stay?

even if he doesn't take over the starting role, suppose williams goes down again (knock on wood he doesn't) and stewart picks up the slack like he has the past 2 seasons with better than average results (again).

stewart is another williams injury away to being on the verge of being carolina's all-time leading rusher

stewart's value to carolina as a more than adequate backup is worth more than williams's new contract...and that is insane.

Definately a different set of circumstances. In 4 years in San Diego Turner only averaged 55 carries per year and had only one start, that as a rookie. A former 5th round pick who the Falcon front office gave a starter job to and like so many of their recent moves, hit a home run.

DWill and Stew both being 1st round picks in a 3 year stretch probably consider each other equals from day one. Old Foxy never let DWill play his first 2 years much anyway, always favoring Foster. :p

Lets hope DWill and Stew kick ass and compliment each other for years to come.

RB's...especially one with lingering ankle issues....have virtually NO trade value in the NFL.

You had guys like Ronnie Brown, Marshawn Lynch, Cedric Benson, etc. taking one year deals. What makes you think that a team would give much for Stewart?

are you kidding me all of those running backs except one had solid years except for Ronnie Brown so you cant even argue that ??

Yeah he has had foot and ankle issues but he is still a number one caliber running back for other NFL teams so you saying he has no trade value makes zero since.

And even though he has had those issues he always comes back as a solid back up to star in D.W. so why separate that when even though we went 1-16 last season we are still a run first team.

With DWill's huge contract it makes it completely unreasonable to give Stewart a similar contract and keep them both. Stewart is most likely just going to walk once his original deal is done. He's got two years left on his rookie contract though. Maybe some team with numerous injuries gets desperate and offers you a ton for him this year, but barring that wait till next year. Hopefully he has a good season this year (and no injuries) and raises his value.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.     also why not draft a tackle in the later rounds that we could move to guard or center if they fail, instead of drafting a center? If we draft a center we know they aren’t going to play tackle but if you draft a tackle they could end up playing any of the 3 positions, look at BC for example. It feels like it’s a better decision to draft a tackle in later rounds than a center.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
