Take the Cam Newton pledge...

Dont need to take this pledge, my support for this team will remain in tact longer than Cam under center. I was a Panther fan while Cam and Clausen were picking their noses in grade school, and will be after they retire, the good Lord willing.. My pledge is and always will be to support the Carolina Panthers, regardless of who it is wearing the uniform...

I like this one better.

Seconded!

Rep when I can....

I llalliweid do hereby pledge that Cam Newton has my full support as the Carolina Panthers starting quarterback. The fact that I did has no bearing on my decision to live in reality and realize Cam is the biggest hope for a franchise QB that we have ever had.

In addition, I realize Cam will at times struggle, and promise not to throw him under the bus at any given opportunity. I understand that Cam is here under a multi year plan, and not a 6 week plan.

I CRA do hereby pledge that Cam Newton has my full support as the Carolina Panthers starting quarterback......until he starts 10 games and played in 13 then i get to reconsider my stance. If he still has not thrown a NFL TD to a WR after 300+ NFL pass attempts......he likely will find himself in the company of other Panther QBs.

Fixed it for you.

No, you DIDN'T! I do not pledge conditional support to the team, I have been a Panther fan since before they existed and continue to do so. I reserve the right to my opinion about any player on the team and refuse to take a pledge that strips that right away. As I said, I will support any player on the team, as their performance directly impacts their success. You just stick to giving your own opinion, and I will stick to mine.

as soon as i saw the sports science on cam ive been a fan. This dude has sheer physical characteristics that you just dont see everyday. He has the rough mold, now he needs the fine tuning. watch him surpass freeman/ryan/brees in a few years and be the king of the south. Three preseason games arent enough footage to fully evaluate newton, dont jump the gun and act like a doofus

lol

I absolutely sign this.

He will struggle, but he is the least of our problems right now. I just want to see him get comfortable with the system, and get a little better every week. Forget the playoffs, I just want to see this team play well and show some promise this season.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
