That's a whopping 13.5 average per year that puts him in the "elite" category #titans

Looks like he finally got his money.

And people think WE over-payed for our RB? Ridiculous. Honestly, 2008, good year, but nothing crazy. 2009, great year (2,000 yards. Enough said). 2010, average (4.3 ypc average). He has had 674 carries in the past 2 seasons. He's not going to hold up, especially with the lack of work due to the lock-out.

Deangelo, when healthy and starting all 16 games, is averaging at worst, 5.0 yards per carry. That is better than Johnson, period. Also, he does it on less carries. If CJ isn't busting the big one, he's an average running back. This is making me want to go the Titans game in November even more, just to see CJ get beat up on by Beason and Co.

ummmm....it is easier to have a higher YPC when you aren't share the load and are not an every down runner.

Sincerely,

Jamaal Charles

Sorry but Deangelo is not in Chris Johnson's class.

The point is, CJ touches the ball more than any back in the league. He SHOULD have the most yards since 2008. But if he's not ripping the big runs, he's average at best. I remember watching a game where he had a 75 yard TD run. Finished the game with damn near 40 carries and 175 yards (or something near that) with 2 TDs. Not that impressive.

He will fall apart. He won't last through his contract. Just too many carries for such a small back.

To say Deangelo isn't in CJ's class...lol

EDIT: Found it. Last season, 27 carries, 142 yards, 2 TD, 76 yard long. Take away that 76 yarder and he did shitty. Which proves he is ONLY a big play threat (like a Devin Hester). He got over-payed for what he is.

Also, last season, 32 carries, 125 yards, 3.9 YPC, 2 TDs, 42 yard long. Not impressive. Sorry.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
