White gloves raised to receive the ball. I can see how it might have looked like he wAved fair catch. Might have been just enough to make them pause, but no, it wasn't a wave for fair catch IMHO. I did think the same thing initially but seeing the replay confirmed it for me sadly.

Yeah, I thought I saw something when watching live, and wonder if our guys thought so too, but on the replay it looks like they were running towards the goal line to down the ball, and they had no idea where the ball was. By the time Peterson caught it, I think 5 of our 11 coverage guys were already beside or behind him. That spells disaster.

EDIT: nvm, just rewatched the clip, only two guys behind and two others putting on the brakes but out of position to make a play.

*I complain about this constantly, to the annoyance of many - thought I was only one. It's so obvious, I almost think it's *wink* "league ordered" to keep the ball in play.

Fair enough, not asking for League review, but something odd happened there. Maybe just unusually poor coverage.

Did Peterson throw up a fair catch wave ?

This is the only logical reason for 3-4 Panthers to be standing around him doing nothing when he caught the ball.

Did anyone else see this ?

I watched it peterson was holding up his hands trying to catch and the gunners were just plain dumb. They were not paying attention. Very very bad play that will not happen again. Peterson pretty much faked a fair catch without even knowing he did it.
