Question from the Arizona game?

If you are a brand new offensive coach for the panthers, knowing the opposing defense is going to defend your best established threat on offense (your running backs), and ya see the defense loading up the box, wouldn't you dial up more pass plays?

That is the logical thing to do.

We are too used to Foxball.

Jesus...this gets brought up damn near every day.

1) The OL couldn't open holes. Our RBs were not the problem, the OL was. No use in wasting plays running for 1-2 yards. We executed short passes to substitute for our run game.

2) As said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Pass game was on fire and didn't want to disrupt the tempo with bad running plays because of an incompetent OL.

Love all the pawns who are claiming the oline play sucked. That shows how little they even understand about football.

Simple math, 5 blockers, 6, some 7 guys coming. Somebody is gonna come free.

Don't tell the head coach they sucked though, as he even pointed out their play as being better than yall are insinuating.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
