Brian Baldinger wants to marry Cam Newton

I think he has a hard on while talking.

I like him. "He's off the charts good". I was really hoping for "he's all business". That's the slogan I'm shooting for, but he needs to win consistently to earn that one. Brady's got a good grip on that at the moment.

In all seriousness, I do have to say I also can't explain the difference in Cam's play in the pre-season to his play in the regular season. 40% to 60%+ pass completion. That's a big jump and now we know it wasn't a fluke. Maybe you could say he waited to turn it on when it counted, but his passing was spotty in college too wasn't it?

sure you can, in sports you simply can't deny some people step up on game days and play at a higher level than when they are asked to be in practice situations. Everyone Carolina had talked made a point to make the fact known.....Cam is a big time gameday player.

His "spotty" passing in college was put under a microscope. HIs comp % was fantastic.....people just wanted to find a means to explain why something great wasn't accurate.

Yeah, cam is a "gamer" which is why his preseason performances did not suggest this kind of explosion... the bigger the spotlight the better Cam is and that's the most elusive intangible of all.

Outside of the OL getting pushed into him and his mechanics breaking down in game 3 (and that is all the media watched really)....his preseason wasn't bad.

Pretty sure he had some absurd passing numbers in 1 Q against NY. Pitt was solid. It was obvious at least he would move the ball pretty well in spots if given a full game IMO.

LMAO...I can't believe how this man sounds...It's clear these media guys either underestimated Cam or wanted to see him the way they wanted too.

I can't believe he said he's praying for Cam to success because the NFL needs him...Like WTF...They are now comparing Cam to Elway and he's keeping company with Tom Brady.

I'm keeping my fingers cross and saying a prayer or two for Cam and the Panthers to success and for him to take this team all the way to the Superbowl and WIN sooner than later...But I'll take each game one Sunday at a time. U may end up losing more than winning because Cam cannot do it on his own and u know ur defense but in time..

Just like Auburn, U guys took a chance on him and so u deserve to reap whatever benefits there is in store for you with him. Let those who want to hate hate...It won't be the first time.

I will say with all sincerity, I now see why Auburn was so despised by other college fans...

Like I said before, if u research Cam, u will see that he was the QB who was used by a college team according to their needs. Cam ran a lot more than he threw because that is the capacity inwhich they used him. So not surprised that he isn't Jimmy Clausen accurate at the moment.

Cam's passing at AU was the story of two seasons.

The first half of the season through the LSU game we ran him a LOT. He was rushing for 150 to almost 200 a game. He was close to breaking the ALL TIME SEC RECORD for a qb midway through the season in rushing. His passing was solid, there wasn't that much of it, but he still led the nation in passing efficiency. After the LSU game (I believe his 4th consecutive 100 yard game rushing), teams decided the only thing they cared about was stopping Cam's rushing. So he started throwing for 250-300 a game with an absurdly high completion percentage and number of TDs. Hell he led the nation in passing efficiency pretty much all year and fell to 2nd after the BCSNCG.

The idiot talking heads and jealous haters that didn't like the way Cam made their team look silly tried to latch onto accuracy problems after he didn't have the greatest performance at the NFL combine. However it was with receivers he had never thrown to before and the other top qb's like Gabbert didn't even participate because it never makes QBs look good. Then at his proday, Cam was basically PERFECT with his accuracy throwing to AU receivers and that is when he became a lock to go in the top 3 in the draft.
