Saints fans put their knowledge on display...

I always love how the Saints and Falcons 'fans' post like they have been this dominant force in the NFL for 45+ years...yeah the Saints have a ring....so what? So do the Buc's...but they act like they are the Steelers or Patriots.

Hopefully we don't act like that when we get our ring in a couple of years

Isn't it ironic that they call the Panthers offense QB friendly? They play the WCO, and the last time I checked, every decent QB to play in that system has put up big numbers. How can they not when they're dinking and dunking all the time and allowing the playmakers to make so many yards after the catch? Drew Brees has been throwing 35-40 times a game for years.

The fact is, Cam is getting most of his yardage by going down the field early and often.

not to mention 5-10 of those passes every game are some type of screen play for them stains.

That's the whole point. The WCO is based on short passes. Watch any Saints game, and you will see that a very large chunk of Brees's numbers come from those short, high percentage, passes that get his RB's and WR's in space so they can run. Of course, Brees is very good and he does throw it down the field a good bit, but most of his long throws are set up by the short stuff he uses early in the game. Their offense is as QB friendly as it gets, so any Saints fan who claims that Newton is only putting up numbers because of the offense he's in, is nothing but a hypocrite.

Saints fan are themselves a lot like the demographics of New Orleans. A few educated ones that get drowned out in the sea of the majority of their fans that have the functional education of an 8th grader.

Atlanta fans are probably in pain and out of breath most of the time from jumping on and off the Falcon bandwagon

And I don't know that I've ever met anyone I could call a hardcore Bucs fan. I mean I see people in Bucs gear when they play the Panthers, but if you ever here most of them talk they generally have no clue about their team and don't really seem to care. Maybe the most apathetic fan base in the entire NFL, and the attendance numbers certainly back that up.

And even in ragging on the Saints fans, I will say they are loyal. In fact, if I was objectively ranking the devotion of the NFCS fan bases I would rank:

1) Saints

2) Panthers

3) Falcons

32) Bucs

Pretty sure Brees throws the ball downfield quite a bit.

He does, but most of his numbers still come from short passes.

I guarantee you that when you watch the draft coverage next year, you will see that every QB prospect out there with size and arm strength issues will be designated as a WCO prospect by all of the scouts. There is a reason for that.

Most of all QBs numbers come from short passes.

Brees was 3rd and 2nd in YPA in 2009 and 2008, fell off a bit last year to 16th but overall his ypa and ypc is very good.

Almost half of Cam's completions last week were to RBs but he's still got the air it out label.

Good QBs take shots when they are there and when they aren't they take what the defense gives them. Nothing wrong with that at all. He can beat you throwing the deep ball and that's all the matters to defenses.

except the saints aren't a WCO.

YPA doesn't differentiate between how far the ball travels and how much of it was YAC.

Again though, Drew Brees is very very good, but he also plays in the most QB friendly offense there is. That is a fact.
