Won a game.....but

The fact that we've actually won a game with like 19339282 starters gone for the season. I'm impressed in all phases.

The future of this team is brighter than any in this league. Compared to Detroit at least.

Yah. I agree. A lot of people were dissing our D during the game too but I think they did a tremendous job considering how many guys were out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this D is better than what everybody gives them credit for. They just have an issue with focus, where they seem to give away one or two huge plays every game, that should be easily stopped.

Other than that though, I can't fault them too much, especially in that monsoon.

it was probably the worst field to play on since that steelers/dolphins monday night game

oye vey! i forgot about that game. yikes. biggest memory from that game was it was ricky williams return and he got knocked down and someone stepped on his back and it looked like he sunk 6 inches into the ground. that field was baaaad.

in all fairness it was retarded of the people at heinz field to freshly sod the field before the precipitation headed in. the field just got saturated today by heavy rain. at least there wasn't pieces of sod ripped of the field by cleats but it still wasn't great for setting your feet.

and lol almost everybody had trouble gripping the ball. Gabbert, Newton, Jones-Drew, Jacksonville's punter, etc. Could reasonably be a big part of why so many passes were erratic. Olsen caught a lot of passes with no gloves yes but that's because his hands are composed of homemade flubber.

An offense needs their d-fense and visa versa...as we saw today.

The truth is, no matter how much a d-line gives up in yardage, they still have to show up week in and out. They can't phone any games in, just ask the GBP. Their defense gives up yardage but they still do their jobs in getting back the ball and helping Aaron Rogers and the o-line.

But I also understand the sentiment. That's partly because I had no doubts going into this game we would win. But I did expect a better offensive performance. I miss our 400 yard per game offense :(

Feels so deflating after that. Gotta chalk some of that up to the rain. And for those that thing we never catch a break, I think the rain actually helped mask that, and made it entertaining. The good news is if Cam gives us a consistent ~200-250 after this....it's going to feel great. Look forward to see it bounce back next week against the Bears. They'll be coming off a loss too.

On a bright note however, even though our team looked a lot like last year's team today, it should be noted we still had 37 passing attempts. That's clearly a different offense than last year.

Chud's sticking with the pass as much as Fox is with the run, although if today was any indication, that is not always a good thing. I'd like to see better adjustments. There was one particular drive where we started on our own 20 with 3 back to back pass plays after it was clear that our passing game was poo, and just before that our run game was actually starting to work.

I didn't get those calls at all. It killed our own momentum. They did the opposite thing with Green Bay in the 2nd quarter. Killed our passing momentum.

Some things this staff is doing is still making me scratch my head. "It's like ok we figured out that was working, but I still wanna make this broken thing work before we win the game". Just keep doing what works FFS!
