The Viewpoint from Chicago

Yea, I read it a few times to make sure that I wasnt misunderstanding the few sentences. Its easy to take something that small and go either way, but its what the writer said about the other teams that leaned me towards the derogatory. My interpretation was 'The Bears' O should be successful considering theyre not facing teams that 2 of 3 they were unsuccessful against'...

There is always the other side, and I considered asking if it was the way I first read it...

nah...that wasn't what was meant. it was essentially trash talking their own offense. winning is in quotes is the first tipoff. then you have to consider the context. they are talking about what they see the bears offense do every day....in practice. they look good in practice, but then they aren't facing real defenses. they are facing the scout team, ie. the practice squad, ie. the guys that weren't good enough for the 53 man roster.
“Winning” offense

Based on what members of the Bears’ defense are seeing, the Chicago offense can most assuredly be successful, probably on every snap. Then again, it should be, considering it’s not facing the Falcons, Saints or Packers.

"They're going against the scout team,” said linebacker Lance Briggs, laughing, “so when I see them, they're always successful."

LOL, Cam is Daunte's size but can juke Urlacher right out of his shoes...

clay matthews >> brian urlacher.

cam newton owned clay matthews.

tom brady owned urlacher running the ball. how bad do you have to be to do that?

cam newton >> tom brady running the ball.

cam newton will own brian urlacher given the opportunity.

Bears beware: Carolina Panthers have some weapons now

Cam Newton, the No. 1 draft pick of the Panthers, isn't playing like most first-year passers. And he will be facing a Bears defense that has surrendered 57 points in consecutive losses to the Saints and Packers.

Until they meet, every defense is going to be excited about a chance to go against a rookie because most believe rookies can be coerced into errors, especially in a hostile environment.

But Newton has passed for 1,012 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions through three games, and the Bears are ranked 26th against the pass. Opposing quarterbacks have a 100.0 passer rating against them, the sixth-highest mark in the league. While much has been made about the Bears' unbalanced offense, the defense also has had shortcomings.

"We can't expect to win games giving up that many points, regardless of the situation," linebacker Lance Briggs said. "We had some opportunities last week. Defensively, we need to get off the field. We're better than that on third downs."

I have been in Chicago all week and will be at the game tomorrow representing for the entire HUDDLE! Most people here have already chalked this up as a W for the bears. But I cant wait till CAM drops some CAMtonium on Soldier Field. If Urlacher wants some he is gonna get all he wants tomorrow not just CAM but DWILLY and JSTEW and oh yeah I hope Olsen gets a chance to run over briggs while were at it. Oh and don't forget SMITTY bitchez! GO PANTHETRS GO!:cheers2:

A road win to go 2 and 2 would be huge.

That said, I just can't get a feel for this game. There are plenty of reasons why Chicago should win, and plenty why we should win.

In this one, I think it comes down to how Cam plays. If he can throw with some accuracy like we saw in the first 2 weeks, then we have a very good chance to win. If he comes out like he did in game 3, we may be in trouble.

Here is hoping for a good outcome, however we get it.
