Do you guys want us to win this season?

If your answer is yes, then why even entertain trading Otah for a 2nd round pick or even worse less?

You have to admit that most of you throw a tantrum when we lose and disregard any postives shown because we lost. Thats fair but at the same time if all you really care about is winning now, then why trade somebody who can play an important role in the ultimate goal of winning now and as often as possible?

If your answer is I do not think we have a shot at a winning season now, then why do you cry for an aging vet to be signed everytime one is cut or is still available on the open market?

And if its no can this thread be deleted?

People cry for vets because we are extremely young and unproven, and vets that are proven seem to make FANS more confortable, nobody on here wants us to lose, so what else would you like to know?

why have none of these vets that you guys are crying for not been signed by anyone? And again if nobody wants us to lose then what do we stand to gain from trading Otah?

Yes I would like to know one other thing, can you bring some logic to the table and not be a jerk about it?

Pretty much all the vets I wanted have been signed by other teams.

In other news, the poster in the other thread threw out a hypothetical scenario; you know, just stuff to spark a conversation on a message board.

None of us (to my knowledge) are Marty Hurney, so you probably shouldn't be overly concerned.

Everyone at one point is guilty of being an armchair coach its just our nature as fans we think we know whats best for our team even thoa we are wrong most of the time.

I just think Pie and rep detract from people having logical discussions. Instead of bringing some insight to the table it encourages people to try to be funny so they can be rewarded with rep or pie.

There are plenty of good posts, funny posts that don't get pie and rep. You Mad.

I said only if you knew for sure you had a reliable replacement. Jeff Otah is getting near the end of his contract and his injury problems are not helping towards and extension right now. Thats just the reality, and this is coming from a Jeff Otah fan so i do hope in the end he stays healthy and is able to play at the level when he first got hear then we have nothing to worry about.

    • I suppose it depends on what you mean as 'elite'. I typically mean someone that can play with lower level pieces around them and still win. There are very few of those.
    • It would obviously be incredible if Brooks came back and just ran away with the job on his opportunities like Rico Dowdle did last year. But any Panthers fan that has been around the block knows better than to go ahead and make plans for that. Brooks has missed a ton of not just playing time but meaningful early career growth in a league that has increasingly devalued the position from an investment standpoint beyond one or two superstars. There's really not any comparison to look back on that lines up with the current iteration of the league at least not favorably. The key thing that this RB room has going for them is our investment in the OL. The highest paid OL in the league two years in a row paired with our staff should make it easier for just about any RB to get into open running lanes. But that is also anything but a given considering our OL was largely middle of the pack last year. In the end it might all be a moot point anyways if we again struggle to establish a viable passing attack.
    • I don't have him making the team and I think same goes for the staff, but they are hopeful for a PS spot.    I mean of course I'd like 3 all-world at RB and every spot, just doesn't work that why. Panthers normally carry 3. dan always talk up Etienne, even called him a future star.....I think Brooks will be fine as a 2 with health pls.....  Chubba can carry a seasons load as lead dawg.    Its fine, I mean backup OGs or CB is much higher on my worry scale(Id even put QB room as worse than RB room too...)
